Players League 5 (Start on 1 december 2015)
Hello all,
Xarus suggested a Players League iteration every first of the month, which sounds like a great idea and people know when to look out for one.
So 1-12 I will start another.
Same rules as PL 4. Map depending on number of applicants. Look for Players League rules etc in other threads of this subforum. (I would love a sticky for the rankings and/or the rules and outlines...)
Here is a quick overview of the rules. They arent hard

Players League
The PL is a series of games which is created by players for players.
The League starts every 1st. of a month a new game on different maps,
with the players that have signed for the next game. Nobody needs to
play every game. The winners of a match get points for the hall of
fame.
Rules
- the use of GOLD is forbidden
- a maximum of 2 allies per player¹ (SM), other players can only be NAP partners with ROW or lower.
- a NAP must have runtime or an exit condition.
- the use of rockets is forbidden
- the use of nukes is forbidden
- after start we have a peace period of 24h² for AI and players, in these time is forbidden to attack enemy
- Espionage with economic and with military sabotage is an act of war
- It's not allowed to enter a game after day 3

I am proposing a re-start for PL 5 - Turkey did not see the no attack til day 2-3 turnover and has messed up Soviet Union and France.

Hi, game 5.2 on the "Clash of Nations" map, is running now since some hours (14h) and we need TWO more players for a real good fight!
We have now 10 active and hungry players.
We have a peace period until day switch 2/3 .

Questions about minutia:
Would proof of a lie be grounds for war in this game?
Could a group larger than three form NAP's and work together? (no more than two with share map together)
If yes to second question, could those players retire the game when they are the only ones left/give enough of their provinces to one player to end the map with a win?
Could a player retire and assign a replacement player for their country after day three?

1. Proof of a lie would be very interesting and could lead to that player not being invited to PL games in the future - in the current game, I don't know - depends on the severity of the lie and if it was a mistake? You could PM miech with the evidence and let him decide (as the PL admin guy)
2. Yes, you can form groups larger that 3 by allying in a circle (each player "holds hands" with two others then the non-allies NAP "across the circle". In this way groups of 4 or larger can be created (tho larger than 4 would be difficult I imagine)
3. Yes, the idea then is that the 4 remaining players retire the game after defeating the rest of the world
4. A player could retire (I presume you mean lave the game completely?) but there would be no guarantee that that the incoming player would get the same country

Awesome.
I don't suspect anyone in the game of lying.
Another player and I were comparing the number of each resource we had and he misreported his starting resource numbers. It was just a brainfart that led me to thinking about such things.

I am pretty sure miech expects everyone to do their duty (so to speak) and be truthful (unless of course it is expedient for making war or peace eg "make peace with me or else my new production level 4 bombers will make waste of your forces" when no lvl 4 bombers were available would be acceptable propaganda I believe!). But, for example, making an alliance or NAP then breaking it without warning would be behaviour that would not make you any friends in the next game

I'm mean it's a game, and sometimes players want to be the devil on the stage. In real live they a harmless like a sheep and can't kill a fly.
We playing these matches to have a little bit more thrill, in our leisure time during the office day.

So I posted in game PL 5 news paper, but thought I should let people here see. I spied on communist Russia, and sure enough, he has shared map with 3 people. Not sure what gentlemen rules means to everyone here, but I don't think that is fair. Funny thing is one of the 4 people is the one who posted the rules here. Just wonder if following the rules is expected or not?
