3 years since I've started playing Call of War.

A few years ago on Wednesday, May 13th, 2020, I joined Call of War. Not knowing how to play and realising it's real time I didn't play that much. Until I got better. I started actually winning matches and others. Now, I'd like to ask you what the dumbest move you made when you first started playing Call of War. I'd say mine is using force march all the time and having my troops kill themselves because I use force march too much. What's yours?

My father once said this: “If you don’t know anything, don’t assume you know and don’t say anything you don’t know is true”
I always got annoyed when he said that, but to be honest he’s kinda right if you think about it
Have a good day!

Sure, but it’s the USSR and Sam seems to have been a less competent player then… losing to allied heavy tanks as a commie doctrine player? Come on…

I started in 2021

I started in late 2019(ah, pre-COVID days) and I remember my first match distinctly, I was Archangelsk on a 2x(I think) speed WaW. I attacked greater Finland and used a single artillery unit to destroy their units. I remember just sitting there watching the arty bomb the Finnish unit for 15 minutes with a big grin on my face, then going and returning a few minutes later to do it again. I know now that it was an inactive player, but I had so much fun over something so simple. I went inactive before the end(irl stuff and just kind of forgot as I didn't really care or understand then) and I don't think I won. Anyway, I returned at some point so, here I am. Also, another thing that many don't know is that I didn't have any victories until my 20th or something match. I remember bragging about having 7 matches open to my friend(now I look at that and laugh). Back then, I saw someone on the forum say that winning matches didn't matter and that simply making it to the end would be good for gold rewards. IG they aren't wrong, but I don't know why I listened to that when I almost never used gold in the first place, even back then. Joining HWW as an obscure nation and just expanding a little bit to get meagre payouts on day 30 when everyone was inactive was my thing. Anyway, I left the game for a while, and returned in 2021, with my stats looking like 20+ matches (0 victories) and under 0.75 k/d. I read up on the forums on how to play well, especially advice from better players, the most prominent of which was probably @K.Rokossovski, who inspired the strategy that I still use to this day. Anyhow, I began winning matches gradually. By my 30th, I had my first few victories, and after that, almost every single one has been a win. In my last 10 matches, a typical K/D for me was 25 and in some cases as high as 70+(there, I actually 1v4'd a coalition of players, not pros, but still pretty active with somewhat good stats). My K/D has gone up to 1.5, which still is garbage IMO, but it's also kind of an advantage. People look at my stats, see so-so numbers, and assume that I'm an easy target. Then a few days later I'm rolling into their capitols with a 1-40 casualty rate and no provinces lost. Being constantly underestimated is fun. Also, with stats that have a vast majority of deaths recorded before I adopted my current strategy, it's quite difficult to see what I actually use on the battlefield by looking there. My AI stats have 888 losses. I reached ~850 around my 30th game. I'm now at my 50th, and I have 16 coalition victories and 6 solos(most after my 20th match, meaning a 50%+ win rate for that alone). It's a similar story with my province C/L and player K/D ratios, with a vast majority of losses being before I started playing properly. Moral of the story, don't judge a book by its cover(or past in this case ig)

Literally any player with a K/D over 1 is good imho.

Depends. I prefer to look at several factors, such as win rate and the difficulty of matches played. A 1.5k/d isn't bad, but most people going up against someone with it don't expect a particularly experienced player.

For me usually I’d just think they had some bad games. Those players are usually active and useful in my games at least…

If someone play WaW a lot, then even if he has a k/d lower than 1, he can still be a decent player( not a 24/7 one, though). I met one

I agree. WaW is the best, it has both noobs and big pros there. You can learn so much by playing it. I love it a lot and I mostly play this round. If you can manage to win a few WaW solo, then you're a pretty good player. That is for certain.

I haven't won a solo WaW win yet, my best was #2 Solo. Wishing to win solo one day. Have won a lot of coalition wins though.

Solos are hard man, FFA 100p map is significantly easier to get a solo win on than basic WaW. Mostly because you don't have to deal with 1v5s against full coalitions multiple times a game.

Say hi on the discord <3.

How is this only 2 pages long?

That is why winning solo on regular WaW makes you a good player.
