Spain is a good nation with which you can easily create an empire.
"I came, I saw, I conquered" Written in a report to Rome 47 B.C., after conquering Pharnaces at Zela in Asia Minor in just five days; as quoted in Life of Caesar by Plutarch; reported to have been inscribed on one of the decorated wagons in the Pontic triumph, in Lives of the Twelve Caesars, Julius, by Suetonius. "Alea iacta est" Gaius Julius Caesar.

Hello, spain in my opinion is like italy... or sweden, there are a lot of sea, and the disembarck are OP, so you don't like to retirate troops from the fronteer to tape the disembarcks..
I prefear more germany. yugoslavia....

Not only that, but the best thing for defending large open spaces of your country is air. Naval air does a real number on transports and one good naval air force with five units and maybe a few support units can cover a huge coastline. Same goes for tac bombers covering empty land locked areas. Position a few air forces around various places and you can defend large open areas by quickly redeploying. Now it does have a cost. You end up spending a lot on airfields and researching air upgrades. So it does take some long term planning. But defense of coast lines is relatively easy. Disembarkments take so long and air redeploys so fast, I don't thing amphibious invasions are OP at all. Real easy to get caught on the beach where the hit points is only 5 per unit.

Another good way of protecting coasts is by putting land units on the coast. They do a number.
Carl Wilson “Dad, how do soldiers killing each other solve the world's problems?” ― Bill Watterson, Calvin and Hobbes: Sunday Pages 1985-1995: An Exhibition Catalogue "Rule 1, on page 1 of the book of war, is: 'Do not march on Moscow'… Rule 2 is: 'Do not go fighting with your land armies in China." Bernard Law Montgomery, British general

You saw if a unit come's to your contry to disembarck. If you saw this you are the best. So i'm talking about the 2-3 firsts days, like a alliance challenge, when you don't have planes or marine. So your unique unity is land power.

Well I just fought off a dozen invasions across my coast line.. But I will say this...
The last invasion was invisible invasion bug...and THAT is OP.
So if you are unlucky enough that the invasion force is invisible for the whole 5 hour disembarkment, then yes...amphibious invasions are OP.
Hard to send an airforce or navy to intercept invisible landings. Otherwise pretty easy to stop them.

Sounds like a suitable name for that amphibious assault would be "Operation Loch Ness".......quite hard to spot
