At the eleventh hour, on the eleventh day, of the eleventh month of the year 1918, the guns fell silent.

May France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States remain forever at peace, as friends and allies, and may brother never draw sword against brother again. And may that friendship and brotherhood among today's representative democracies, extend to all nations one day.
