Bytro really

Game devs, GOs and Mods: lots of CoW players don't accept this new kind of rewards for the video ads. They will not watch the video ads and Bytro's extra income from the video ads will drop as well. If Bytro really need to earn more income, there are tons of ways to earn it without removing the free gold from video ads. Also, I can give ideas and suggestions on how Bytro should market the upcoming boost items (for the boost inventory update). You can PM me about it via the conversation on the forums.

We want to get away from handing out Gold as reward for everything. Instead, we want to hand out more specialized items in the future. Resource boosters are just a first step, there will be more different booster types added in the coming months. This allows us to be more creative with the rewards we give for certain actions, and it also allows us to be more generous in some areas without inflating the whole economy.

This is currently in a testing phase, not all players have it yet, and we will analyse the data closely. Don't worry about the impact on our income or on the amount of Ad watchers, we have that closely monitored and will make adjustments accordingly.

The total gold price equivalent for the new reward content is actually more than for the gold rewards before, so players get more out of it in total now, it is just more specialized. The reward amount is also not set in stone, it will probably still be tweaked in the future.

Btw there is still a gold reward at the end of the Video Ads (the 8th reward), and there is even a premium account reward (the 7th reward), but you have to scroll down the list.

Personally, I think this choice is fair and I support Bytro's decision here. I'm a PC-only player, and getting like 3k free gold per day is nothing short of OP. Hopefully some smaller rewards like this can be given to PC players as well.

i mean, if your bytro you would do the same thing. If you give out free gold, some people will stop buying it. So instead give out resource rewards. everyone knows most of the gold use is to speed up unit production, or speed up research. So the players watch the ads for resources AND buy the gold. maximize your profits.

I may like this booster Idea more than gold for anything (it will make it infitesimally more difficult to reach 1 mil gold tho)

Currency buyer without ADS are really pissed off. Only thing wich is fair, every one can have this ADS. Novadays everyone can afford mobile device, or even use emulator android apps for windows on PC.

But new rewards, boosters and simultanously boosting gold pay ability are creazy.

Now gold buyer have even more advantages, then before... Gold packs with ressources will have more value, then directly use of gold before.

You can make several hundreds of USD worth of gold every year just by watching ads, and that's not OP? I cant get the game on my phone because the storage is full.

I haven't played for a while, but I support this change.

I would also love for an option to pay with gold to earn the same amount automatically without watching videos, so I feel like I am "even". Could be used as a drain of gold for Bytro, and you don't want your paying users to be exposed to ads from competitors anyway.

For me having alot of resources would be best but some gold is good like 30k or less

I actually did end up clearing enough space for it, and I got it, and yeah, it's OP, but at least I can capitalize on it. In 4 days I spent more gold, all of which I got from ads, then in the last 2 or so years I have been playing this game. I normally made 5k gold per month, now it's 85k. That's just OP.

Is this still being tested? Curious when the ads will transition to this model for everyone.
