Current state of Doctrine balance

So I thought to myself, why not start a thread to discuss some things? :)

How do you feel about the current Doctrine balance in the game? What would be your Doctrine ranking, and why?

Bonus question: Do you think that the recent addition of Nuclear fallout buffed Allies, due to them having access to Nukes earlier?

Pan Asian, Comintern, Axis, and not allies at all.

My favorite is Pan Asian by a long shot, the speed, and information and the naval gameplay. These are my preference for most games. Comintern is great fun, ending up with huge armies which are still quite affordable, and flooding units across the entire Eurasia with a road network, just ends up looking awesome. But I find I need to be much more active with Comintern than PA or Axis. Axis' raw power and ability to stand up to hits is really nice but the cost per unit hurts haha. Still when I get a solid group of fresh armies together for a new war, really makes a showing then too.

I outright hate Allies though, for one simple reason. I dislike moving slower than everyone else. The painfully slow speed of all Allies units just instantly makes me uninterested in playing as allies, I like the other aspects of it but that speed problem always keeps me from bothering to even touch them, and as my favorite gameplay is naval combat, allies being up against the fastest navy most games, that being Pan Asian, just puts it even more into painful perspective.

Besides all that though, it all feels pretty balanced, I've seen allies strengths put to devastating effect against me and often left me unsure what to do against them, in the case of the insane range of Ally strategic bombers ruining my forward naval bases as Pan Asian or Comintern. I've played every doctrine at least once and won games as each as well, but most of them had been Pan Asian and Comintern. Only 1 win as Allies I think, and I hated playing that whole game pretty much XD

You did buff Stratos once nobody could play them right. Now they are way too good! Change it please!

Honestly? I feel the doctrines are at their practically-perfect balance. Sure, you could switch some of the numbers around, like decreasing upkeep cost for Comintern, increasing production time for Allies, etc, but it wouldn't solve the underlying issue: comparing doctrines is like trying to compare apples and oranges. Each doctrine is tailored for a specific playstyle. Axis is for players who want elite, streamlined units, at the cost of smaller armies and weaker economies. Pan-Asian is for those who exploit the weaknesses of others and pounce before they get outgunned themselves, kind of a snowball effect. Allies is for those who want a general-purpose army, with the ability to churn out high-level units and overwhelm their enemies. Comintern has great defensive units early-game, allowing prioritisation of the economy and fielding powerful armies late-game.

Saying that, I do think there are some minor things I'd like specific doctrines to have. For example, Comintern needs their planes buffed in some way, maybe a reduced production cost for ints and ABs, or a buff to RA production speed for Comintern so that these players stand somewhat of a chance against an early Axis push. I think Car explains it well in his earlier post. If int buff is deemed too unhistorical (if that's even taken into consideration), then a reduced production cost for AA would suffice I think.

Likewise, Allied needs a buff for ships (as stated by many players in the thread so far), since their research buffs aren't enough to negate the speed and dmg output of Pan-Asian and Axis ships. Prolly something along the lines of allowing availability of ships earlier for Allies late game. (Honestly, I don't have the expertise to talk about naval combat, since my strategy of spamming ints + NBs + CVs w/ sub stacks is usually enough in regular maps).

Axis and Pan-Asian are perfect as they are, especially with the recent(ish?) RRG re-balance. No need for further change to those doctrines as it currently stands in my opinion.

Unrelated, but I'm back :D

Not sure for how long tho ^^

And please change the commie interceptors from literal biplanes to something less ugly ;(
