Well that screenshot is locked behind some sign-in thingy... but I guess it depends on distance and air base level. But the AC is pretty hard to kill with a L1 tac, so my guess is defeat.

So you find yourself at war with an AI, the AI sends an infantry and an armored car to the nearest airbase. On the airbase you have two tac bombers, you send them to destroy the incoming threat, every unit involved is level 1and has 100% health. Now this is all happening as I write this, how do you think it will end?

My reaction to the hypothetical is exactly the same as K.Rokossovski's. With only 1.0 offensive strength point against armored-class units, L1 tactical bombers are pretty weak against armored cars and tanks. A two-squadron wing of L1 TBs would probably require 7 to 10 direct attacks to destroy a formation of one L1 infantry regiment and one L1 armored car brigade, and the TBs are going to take some damage in the process.K.Rokossovski wrote:

So, like Roko said, it depends on the aircraft refueling time (air base level), and the distance the attacking ground formation must travel to get to the defending air base. Obviously, if the attacking ground units catch the TBs on the ground, the jig is up.
Personally, I find L1 TBs to be cost-ineffective when all resources are in short supply, and I usually don't start producing L2 TBs until Day 8 to 10 when I am ready to start mass-producing them with multiple L2 air bases. There are more important production and building priorities in the first week of the game.
Oops, my bad, but you were all wrong, it ended in victory, no tacs lost.K.Rokossovski wrote:

How many sorties were required by your 2-squadron TB wing to destroy the attacking ground units?injinji wrote:

The smart player would have split the infantry and armored car, and put the armored car on forced march. Likely would have been a different ending.
Edit:
I have had better luck saving screenshots and using the attachment tab when creating a post in order to make an image more visible.
It's a speed round, too many to count, about 15 minutes.MontanaBB wrote:

I'm new to screenshots, how do you do them?VorlonFCW wrote:

depending on your software, some combination of Function,Windows or alt and Prt sc(print screen). Then attach it on to a post with the attachments toolinjinji wrote:

Gyazmo is the tool used by CoW staff. It creates online pictures including a link to them, so you can reference them anywhere.
I use an app called screenshot by lightshot. It is really slick.
1) Once the app is installed I can press the "printscreen" button the keyboard that is otherwise useless.
2) I can then draw a box around what I want to capture.
3) There are handy tools to draw or type in that space.
4) I can either save it to my computer and then insert it in a post here, or upload it to the "cloud" and just have a link to share.

MontanaBB has provided me a huge number of great hints and strategy to win or place top 3 in 90% of my games. However, I cannot agree with his thoughts on lvl 1 bombers. One of the secrets of my success has been immediate production of air force at the very beginning. It takes basically 3 days to get lvl1 TBs created. In less than a week I have -4-5 fighters and 2-3 bombers. Their range and survivability with fighter escort makes them potent against ground units when most players have not produced any AA. In essence they act like long range light tanks. I upgrade fighters and TB at beginning of every upgrade. This is not a pantaciea for all situations but the advantage goes to players who effectively and early use AF.MontanaBB wrote:
