You can definitely know actually

but the method is very tedious but considering its let's you avoid alliances gang up and gives you a nice weak area to land it's worth it

Since everyone wants to play the big nations it would be expected that Germany,UK,France or Russia would be strong players but in almost all of my last CON maps those countries are the first to go inactive day 2-4,they were taken by new players wanting to be the strong countries but don't continue the game because they have multiple maps going.

I had a map where a Poland player occupied central Europe along with France,see screenshot attached.

Some maps come with surprises.I only can really start to determine when I'm on the map checking stats and monitoring the player's actions.l no longer assume that a certain country might have a strong player or a weak one before I join a map.

You can safely assume that 80% or more of the players are inactive by day 4. Then you can have some fun taking out AI, if that is your thing.

Other than those created for specific events, random 22p maps are dead on arrival.

Both of those are good as well. They are axis doctrine, meaning they will be more powerful early on.
