I have now conquered the majority of north america. I am sitting at around 600 VPs. I am building only infastructure and industrial complexes on food tiles, and have been for a week. But my net food production is.... well below zero.
My army constitutes less than 25% of my food consumption.
My question is this: How is it possible to capture 3300 VPs to win this world map without being -3000 food / hour? It seems to me like the population's food consumption ratios need to be adjusted on this map. I know I am not the only one experiencing this.

Also when your not at war its not good to be at your maximum army capacity exspecially not when you can build 50-100 units simultaniously, then you would rather avoid that upkeep until a world war breaks up and then you can build 100-200 units in 24 hours.
EDIT: My bad I actually have 114 IC provinces (just counted) so that would be 114 simultanious unit production at the same time, so 114-228 units per day

How do you count your IC? DO you just literally count or is there a way the game does it for you?
Back to the food. I still stand by the fact that adjustments have to be made to decrease civillian upkeep and increas military upkeep for balance.
In Romania I produce 25k food in my core. While the civillians in my core consume below 3k. This should leave 22k for army upkeep if I wouldn't have any non-core provinces conquered. But I have and I have 13.5k available for army upkeep. As shown in the posted image and posts I have acceptable moraal (it will drop) and made some infrastructure in non-core provinces. The more I expand, the less food I can use for army because the civillians eat too much. The balance between food production - civillian consumption and military consumption has to be improved.

I dont know to explain in english, just select with push click left, and after click on !Construction or Production! and tell you 2 province name + another number your province. You make this in Province list. Or you can click on the first province and push Shift button and click on the last province to select all province with IC or to select one by one with Control button. And again Construction or Production to tell how many prov you have. Is a tip like mass production or mass construction
I have just 12k food prod in core prov with North Ural ...
Btw. Next time if i wanna play 100 player map i will chose Romania If not is avaliable i will quit game Admin cannot put an warnig to play with Romania if wanna win that game or not ?

After 2 days of playing Alberta I looked at what country seemed best for me to play on the worldmap and I picked Romania on my second worldmap. It's true I don't have food trouble on that map because of the many AI's and weak oponents. I put the numbers in there to point at something that could use some attention. I can do the same for Alberta of course (7k less food production in core!).

really, people, you are all just thick or what?
Is it that you just can't handle it that you FF-ed up and thus must insist it is the game?
I am Indochina on world map, have a continental empire stretching from Singapore to Artic Sea and Scandinavia, with provinces in North America...
And all I have is a temporary minus on food production...
Your problems are only caused by NOT developing your grain. I am quite sure almost none of you invest in conquered provinces, because you are either too lazy or believe it is not worth it.
Well, it is simply necessary, as is PROVEN by your food problems, whereas I and several others have NO food problems
12 Dec 2015, 01:26
I have started to have -93 grain an hour.
12 Dec 2015, 01:27
And I have developed my conquered provinces quite a bit.

Leave him .... dont have with who talk ... Now you have -food ? Ok ... we talk when you arrive at 1k VP or 2k VP how you are with food ... if you are And how you can take your conquered province ... because personaly i change every night with my teammate ... The newspaper is full of Rebellions ... Ok, i understand that person who attack and take capital of AI ... yesterday i have +66 +110 food .... because i taken 3 capital ... now i have -123 and down ... because i dont have anymore capital in my area ... i sended my troops to attack at 5 days on Australia continent .... This is the game ... unbalanced game ...
And yes ... my IC and Infr are max at 80% food prov i`m with North Ural yellow color and first place on resource prod ....

Your production is less than impressive, mine is 470k after 3 days of war where i lost 30-50k of production, and no I do not have any random AI or Inactive capitals I can conquer, there is none left.

Get lost dude ... i cannot explain why you are awsome ... but ... you need to have a brain to think smart. why i have that prod, and why you have that prod... What i want to tell you is ... you play with germany, central of europe. You can expand in euro, china rusia, affrica ... you are in middle, ok ? If you play with australia ... where you can go ? Or if you play with Siberia .... you think your moral will be the same like you play with germany or Romania ? think smart, dont be ... If i live in China, with 1,000 dolar / month i`m rich, no ? if i live in UK or France, Italy ... i`m Poor.... OK ?! You understand what i sayd ? In 10 players map, if you want to play with Canada, the game say, "This is a country who play just Ai because you are in handicap match with Canada" or something like this ... To balance the game, need to give more core province at edge map, because you cannot expand, just in one direction who dramatically affect your moral. Or give less prov on middle map. Idk who can play and WIN this game with Australia country or that island ... I sayd WIN game, not to play ... To make 3300 VP with New Zeeland is possible ??? If you play with New Zeeland, and i play with Romania or a middle country ... i will make 10x prod ... and i will expand very fast like you ... (And dont say is more danger in middle of europe ... because to much enemy ... you can make alliance ) You got it ? You need to drow something to understand ??? I play with North Ural who give me just 2 core prov food, 12k got it ? With Romania you have 22-24k JUST CORE prov and is in middle of map.
Province with 30 moral and will drop moral tomorow ...

Well there is atleast one thing we can agree on, not all starting countries are balanced in their strategic position, The more remote you pick your starting country the harder for you will it be to get a good start, but as soon as you get big enough you relocate your Capital and just get lvl 5 forts on all your cores, then it wont matter where you started. but it will give you a slower start to start in the edge of the world.
That being said Ural is not a bad place to start, my capital is currently in Uralsk which would be right at your core provinces, so if I was north Urals in my game It would be even better for me because my core provinces would be closer to my capital. Please do tell me you have moved your capital to a more central position right? Your not keeping it in your core provinces?
Your capital in that game should be around Israel

Food province with 60% morale, Stable at max morale penalty (-39) no upgrades at all, just 100 production below your fully developed.
So it seems like the bane of your problems is your morale management. As you can see it is stable so you cannot say "oh its gonna drop to 30 overnight"
And of course because you place your Capital strategically 70% of my provinces will be within 1-1.5 days of travel to capital and thus as a much lower penalty from distance to capital, please tell me you did move your capital.
12 Dec 2015, 12:41
If i move my capital my moral will drop on core province and my food prod arrive -700
In your province with 60 moral you have the same prod with my full developed province food ... Now you understand why i sayd this game is unbalanced ??? you have just 1 infrastrucurres buil. i have lvl 5 IC and lvl 3 infrastructure
In that picture i have 30 moral and say moral will drop ..
now i have -162 food prod, yesterday after 3 capital i have +66 ... now -162 .. tomorow will be -200 after -300 -400 ....

God.... Well this explains all your trouble.... MOVE YOUR FUCKING CAPITAL... God... The extra morale penalty you get from distance you can offset with forts in your core provinces.
Of course your food production is shit when half your empire is max distance from your capital, seriously...
12 Dec 2015, 12:57
Ok, i will try in 2 days To see... last time when i moved my capital was down all my food prod around -800/h

This will not be an instant fix all, when all your provinces are already in the gutter morale wise you will need time to raise it again. This is something you do before your morale goes to shit, unless you can capture a few capitals to raise your morale its gonna take you a week or 2 to raise the morale in all your low morale provinces. and remember to build lvl 5 forts in all your core provinces to offset the morale distance penalty.
remember morale is much faster to fall than to rise because of neighboor penalty, So in your currently situation it will be hard fought to make up for your previous morale handling. If you can somehow manage to capture 2-3 capitals you will see that with your new capital placement and forts in your cores your food production will be much higher(And stable).

Very nice stabilisation of that province. The picture you show also shows that neighbouring provinces have 60+ morale (I will spell morale correct from now on . You have only 1 enemy at this moment. As you know you can't always choose your amount of enemies (you had 4 some days ago). This would increase morale loss by 15 to lower morale of that porvince in the current condition to 45. However all provinces would lose morale and neighbouring provinces influence each other's morale with moral penalties or bonusses. It would probably continue droppig to something very low. I have -10 morale from ongoing wars, some fortifications in distant provinces with morale troubles and it doens't really stabilize at 60% or anything near it.
Moving capitals is an option that can help temporarily. If you conquer all of Asia, Europe and Afrika you will have many provinces with -39 morale penalty from distance to capital, regardless where you have your capital.
Not in every game it is easy to make fortresses too level 5 and move your capital. As Alberta (really sucky starting location. Invading any continent means -39 morale) I face a great team of 9 smart players that are trying to win this game as a 'team'. Half of them try some warfare, the rest do silly things and transfer resources to the others. 1 guy lost 270k men in 1 week and proces like crazy. He also uses gold, he made a big in the most advanced nation list. The rest of the world either isn't smart enough to understand that they should attack them since some are out of manpower and army, even after pointing it out. Or they are affraight as 2 have mentioned to play with gold and used it at the start to have some quick kills (they have horrible military statistics anyway).
Still I can't just advance over land because of the morale penalties. The land isn't productive after conquering and won't be. Besides that I need my resources for creating army/research and making some miliary buildings to keep the swarm away. I can't afford spening loads on forts and so far I have lvl 2-3 forts in my core and some lvl 1 outside. Nor can I make peace with them. They wanted to invade and still do.

That doesnt mean the game is unbalanced that means your bad at politics and nation placement.
You said yourself you managed to acquire alot of enemies and chose a remote nation and then you blame food production for your troubles?
