So FPD will allow partial genzing. A both side agreement is required.
RETIRED ELECTION MANAGER
The context of this is going to be pretty obvious to a lot of people, but for those who are still puzzled, as I'm trying to get an unbiased picture please don't read it until after you've responded.
Context:
In an argument about whether the practice of Genzing* is acceptable or not, I refuted a point regarding imbalance in the forum by remarking that people aware of the practice don't give that much weight to forum rank anymore. I then realised I don't know if this is actually true or not, so I'd better check.
*For those unfamiliar with the term, Genzing is when a user spam-likes another user. This can be done to annoy people, as was probably the case with ComradeGenz the pioneer of this phenomenon, but is usually done to boost somebody's points and is favourably received by most. This has the effect of making ranks pretty much meaningless - I for example am hardly the greatest contributer to this forum, but because people occasionally Genz me I have a pretty high rank.

Yeah, that's precisely the kind of Genzing I approve of.Joe Bartolozzi wrote:
Hey guys, lets just chill this down. If someone wants to be genzed and someone wants to genze him, then genzing in that case only should be allowed.
[A lot of passive-aggressive commentary regarding a certain person has been edited out of this post.]
But why would somebody even care about the rank?
For fun? Not much else.
That's the most that I could think would be somewhat reasonable. But they also mentioned basing your entire belief about somebody, on their rank, which definetly wouldn't make senseCarking the 6th wrote:

The idea that someone could be basing their entire belief of someone around their rank is not, to my knowledge, something that happens in practice, so I created this poll to make sure of that. The reason I did was because somebody else raised this as the only valid argument I've heard against the practice of Genzing (which is fully explained in my first post behind the spoiler tag at the bottom, if you're not familiar with it, but it basically spam-liking someone to artificially boost their rank).Death_Over_Communism wrote:
