France could beat Germany (HWW)

I seem to be winning here. The fight just started. Germany has a superior army but with the Maginot I think it's very much possible to win with inferior forces. What do you guys think?

He’s not ai yet, and Spain betrayed me while I have no units in my rear. I’m having trouble fending him off.

yeah like the artillerys are too spreaded out and you could of have used your bombers to deal with it. And you should put all of your tanks or motor units in one stack.

Yeah OK, that's some advice. But I put all my armor to Spain and I don't need much armor in this front.

Army composition, placement, and mission assignment have to match. Random combinations of units ain't it. And you have to concentrate your firepower.

For example, if you're getting in a shooting match, then you should have all available artillery firing against 1 enemy stack. He fires once, you fire 5 times. Then you go after the next target.

If you're going defend against tanks, draw then into a forest where your infantry and AT guns have the advantage.

If you're attacking with armor, make sure there are at least 10 and make sure you're fighting on plains.

If you see unprotected artillery, then hit it from the air. What are you waiting for, them to start shooting up your tanks?

It's basic tactics, basic understanding of unit and terrain types.

Actually, I do. Don't be mistaken. I wasn't using them well enough because I have work to do and simply can't be active enough. As for @z00mz00m's advice, I understand now, thank you. But it is really hard to concentrate firepower when the enemy has superior forces all over the front (as I have found out later), and when half of Europe is sending troops at me. Your advice might not work in this situation (The Germans would concentrate firepower on one front too and I would be in trouble), but it would work in a lot of other games as well. Thank you. Bombers lose health fast against infantry and other non-AA units and I don't want that (I want to use those bombers throughout the entire game), but perhaps I am wrong.

Anyway, talking in the forums are enjoyable and I really like this community.

That 17 plane stack consists of 9 ints, and 8 tacs, both L2, I guess you don't know that.

What you do depends on when the enemy is active, and how good he is. The key is to take advantage of times when you are active and he's not. That's what lets you use air power without interference. Or concentrate forces to wipe out parts of his army. It's possible to beat an opponent 10x your size if you can take advantage of your own activity.

Spain is an easier front. It's all mountains. Just hole up with infantry and artillery until the enemy is exhausted. Your navy can also help to bombard his units along the coast.

Good advice bro, but I lost to UK now. I have work to do and now all 3 of them took all my mainland and colonies. Still I guess I did put up a good fight.

I am playing my first round of WAW & think France would be incredibly difficult to play. With Germany, Spain, Italy and UK as neighbors where would one place their troops.
