In my country (the UK), there have been many people who have threatened to seriously injure (or sometimes kill) me, because I am Jewish. A lot of these people are Arabs. The Safavids had no choice but to make the people Shia by force. If the Sunnis had remained, they would have betrayed us in the war. Safavid did not do the right thing, but it was the best choice among bad choices. If it wasn't for Safavid Shiism, we would still be involved in the fight between Sunnis and Shia in Iran.
