How to get started as South Africa
5 new nations were added to the 1939-Historic World War map. The nations were, Venezuela, Peru, Netherlands, South Africa and British Egypt. Today I'm going to show you the guide to South Africa. Hope you like it.
South Africa is a small country with a small military. But full of resources. All of the cores produce double resources, but Windhoek produces 1 food. So there is no shortage of resources, South Africa is capable to handle a giant military. So here are the steps.
1) Do NOT invade British or French Africa. Africa is a giant wasteland of nothing and if they bring their navy and army down your dead! (Unless they're inactive though). If you want, you can waste your resources on Portuguese and Belgian Africa, using your already researched Light tanks at armored cars, they're very fast, thus not waste your time in Africa and take it fast, instead of spending militia in the allied doctrine as they're very slow. So you got 4 options:
A) Invade South America through Argentina or Brazil.
B) Invade India, through Karachi, Bombay, Madras, Calcutta.
C) Invade the Dutch East Indies, Easiest option, for beginners as East Indies Indies are least defended at the start.
D) Invade Australia, It isn't impossible but can be done with a big enough navy you can bombard the coast.
E) Invade British Egypt, invade through RoW through UK, or France. Or just Invade by sea.
2) Don't waste money on industry, You don't need better industry as South Africa produces enough resources. Just focus on army.
3) Diplomacy is crucial in every games.
- Hope you like the guide, if you do please like this thread. And please check out my guide to British Egypt. And thanks, JesterTheSheep for making the guide for the Netherlands.

Actually, I would love to know what SA starts with in terms of troops. Would you have a pic of that ?
I played it in an all in for 1.0 6 months ago. Back then it had (just off the top of my head)Chimere wrote:

I'd like to correct some incorrect stats, South Africa has 6 urbans and Windhoek only makes food. Also I've never seen ANY South Africa go any of the ways said here, they ALWAYS go for Africa, to start, they will probably research, produce and upgrade, especially if they get industrialized. Then, around day 5 they go for either Portuguese Angola and Mozambique (Luanda and Nampula have double icons) or if UK is inactive (unlikely) they might rush towards Lusaka. Later around day 8, Belgian Congo will probably be taken over (Leopoldville has double oil production), they in UK and France are active, South Africa will probably build up their army before either, attacking UK and/or France. I've never seen any South Africa not go take all of Africa before going elsewhere (yet).
Well would you like to tell us?Comrade genz wrote:

That is roughly what it was a while ago. The basic gist is that it starts a lot like many of the other British dominions, with a fair sized army for the purpose of guard duty but not very good for attack. It's taken in some investments as the interceptors, DD, and LT show but that is really the extent.
I never said it doesn't have 6 urbans, Windhoek makes food and oil if you see properly. And only noobs invade Africa. And I also mentioned that you can take Belgian and Portuguese Africa. And guides are for educating Noobs.WT auf.Pz IV wrote:

1.Smh, Windhoek doesn't, a province near it does, the images collide if they are too close. 2. Are you sure? I've seen lvl 70 ers doing so and you say not? 3. Your not helping noobs by saying Windhoek produces Oil and Food when it doesn't nor that even if you/they DO go out of Africa, that a big navy and upgraded transports will be key. I'm honestly wondering if you've played South Africa lol.Comrade genz wrote:

This image below clearly shows that Windhoek doesn't produce Oil and Food, only Food.
i recommend you read his guide for British Egypt you will understand much better who you are talking toWT auf.Pz IV wrote:

.He basically assumed you play British Egypt like you play South Africa because come on both are in Africa.
and the ยซ city that produces two resources ยป tells you everything you want to know about his understanding of the game.

And I've played SA
This guide is much better than the British Egypt one. Your telling these just because I made such a bad guide before. And when did I say British Egypt and South Africa same thing because they're in Africa, give an example. I've mistook Windhoek for a two resources producing province it's a seeing mistake. Not that because I'm a noob.Chimere wrote:

How that is possible for an experienced player is beyond me. And it is important to invade africa in my opinion to tie up loose ends and to create a buffer. I dislike having enemy provinces just sitting there.Comrade genz wrote:

Yeah, invading Africa is great, even Britain and France if they're inactive
I changed the title, be carefull on what you call a guide. A guide is supposed to be in debth.
