Also so how's this whole thing gonna work? Will it be open for 24 hours and no one can do anything until 24 hours is gone (how enforceable is that, besides a peace period?). Cuz I'm sure everyone lives in drastically different time zones and it'd be unfair if let's say, Japan got to do stuff 12 hours earlier than China. It would tip the scales radically...

We will probably give a day or two to join, then anyone is allowed in if they want regardless if they reserved a country. Private conversations will be where the code is revealed.

Problem. Even with a peace period people can build and move units. That means there will be little we can do there. We can set the game to start when full and reduce country count to players, but if a person doesn’t show up then we are screwed.

We could enforce share map at the start and allow no moves until the game is ready, but that wouldn’t be the easiest to enforce and may not prevent things like research.

Honestly I think the 'enforce shared maps' thing is the best idea. Not completely enforcable of course but any active players can quickly tell if someone else isn't sharing theirs, which is automatically sus and ought to earn the recalcitrant player an earbashing from Carking, or whoever ends up taking the organisational role if he happens to be offline at the time.

It's kinda hard to make things completely balanced. And it's HWW, so there's already some discrepancy. Particularly if we get the more resource-poor people into the game early it should be OK.
