I just won a game by coalition win, specifically the 4x (Event) world at war game, Game ID#3712153. It says in-game info that the #1 player will receive 10k gold + the players score in gold which I do not believe I got. I counted the gold before the game finished and it was at 9,701 gold and after it is now at 16,701. I did not even get close to 10k gold and not even close to the 1800 points or so that I racked up during that game. Is there an explanation for this? Have I understood the matter wrong from the beginning? Help please.
If you win a game by coalition victory, you get the coalition win reward(7000 gold), not the #1 player reward.

Sometimes it may take a while too. It won't always be immediate, how long has it been since you won?
