I Like Strategic Bombers. Change My Mind

They have fantastic range, deal decent damage to soft targets, and absolutely wreck enemy cities, which yields fantastic long term results. Their range makes them great at scouting, even with that poor line of sight, and also allows you to send bombing raids deep into enemy lines to cut off enemy reinforcements, or prevent those reinforcements from being produced in the first place. They certainly aren't for every situation, but they are by no means a bad unit.

Works only for the 1st time....After your opponent knew about it then a stack of interceptor patrol and a stack of AA on cities is sufficient to tackle it....

I like strat bomber for long range scouting and for diversity in long games.

That's why you don't use exclusively a single type of unit. I'll send some strats out, and when the enemy gets wise on that, I'll send in fighters (if I have enough) and use their change in production strategies to launch another push on land, forcing the enemy to produce more anti-ground units, allowing me to fight enemy fighters and send in the bombers, and so on, and so on...

Yep, diversity is key. Too much of one unit, any unit, will end up in your destruction against a good player.

Yeah it would be great to use against players who don't defend their provinces or using lightly stacked unit with little AA. I made lots of them in a map with mostly ai, they weren't that helpful in strategy due to AI have lots of megastack defending each province, they pretty much only helps in terms of tactic

they are also a very useful addition to an int/tac stack. they certainly won't hold back on the range

their good if you want to take out someones economy or wage moral warfare. they can end stalemates alot too so they are useful alot in late games

Why want to change your mind? They are worth the price as long as you control the skies.

Waste of research time.

Waste of material.

If you are playing against someone who is that near you and a good player. You should have developed other things before you get run over. Just my experience.

but in mid to long games they become very useful.

Only time I used it was to develop nuke bombers, and that didn't go very well. I wouldn't say it's a waste, but you need a lot of micromanagement. I would suggest you use it if you just wanna cut of the supply lines of the enemy, but you need air superiority, as HMS Surprise said.
