Industry Schedule

In regular (5 city) scenarios, when on average do you build each level of industry?

For me,if my resources allows it I try to get my city industries up and running as soon as possible whenever possible. The resource provinces (non city)with 1.1-3k resources also helps a lot once they level 3.

Day one I usually just focus on building units. Maybe I’ll build one industry in the city I don’t have resources at the province level. Days two and three I usually go heavy on industry for other resources, especially metal, goods, and rares. I don’t often need a lot of oil early game so that’s less a priority. I also take into consideration any AI I’m harvesting and take that loot into consideration on resources, same with the first supply drop. Don’t forget rural industries. They can be valuable to increase as well. Especially once your city industry is high level and expensive to upgrade, starting on your rural is often a good idea. Especially since your cities should be prioritizing recruiting centers as rural recruiting centers have a much lower return on investment.

In balanced rounds, like a world at war, I usually build an L1 unit production building in each of my core cities (usually 1 barracks, 1 ordnance, 1 tank plant, 1 naval base, 1 air base) then when those finish I build L1 industry in each city. L1 RC usually come next, then L2 industry. My strategy usually involves building lots of L1 units and skip upgrading later, so I don’t need higher level unit production buildings in the first few days. I try to get to L4 industries in all my core cities by day 7 or so.

Stay Sweet!
