Interceptors...the biggest con in the game?

So here's the scene. I have a new player trying to bomb my 3 medium tanks (level 3) with one naval bomber (level 1). Every 45 minutes, like clock work, this sad little lone plane (with a half filled energy bar) comes back. I put up 4 fighters (level 2) a few minutes before it gets there. His bomber flies right over, into blue circle, drops bombs, and leaves with just a slight amount of damage.......4 times. Finally on the fifth time I click on the fighter, click on the bomber, and he goes right down.

I think this "patrolling" is a load of bull. In fairness I have had some of my bombers get hit flying thru some patrolling fighters, but most of the time they make it okay.

Whenever I read posts saying "pair them up with anti-air", I think "yeah because the AA is the only thing that damages planes".

Any opinions? Am i wrong?

I’m not really sure about this, but I think if the plane is in your blue circle when the patrolling is over, they get hit. Try to time this and shoot down bombers. It requires activity but judging from your post I’m guessing that you’re pretty active. I usually just max out my fighters to kill air forces easily but more importantly to scout, I use a lot of ranged units and L4 AC can’t see L3 commandos now, so I can only use ints as scout.

Playthroughs might be coming. I will try my best to not get killed :) but if I do, pls forgive me :S .
Playthroughs have to wait, could be making one soon, or not. If not wait till next year.
Have a good game :)

Are you sure they werent moving? If your fighters are moving, they dont intercept. They need to be on patrol.

On patrol they should do about 9 damage. The nav bomber is up to 35 hp, so yeah - it won't kill it.

bro chill patrol isnt feihua as you said

the patrol damage happens every 15 min so a plane can very much go in and out within that time frame

My 30+ level 3 fighters in week 12 do very well. They always are on patrol, never for defense though. Waiting to pounce.

Of course they do well, though on day 12 you probably should have L4, to scout out commandos that could kill your entire artillery army if you aren’t careful. Commandos after the stealth buff are really good, you have to seriously keep your fighters up date, and play Comintern as little as possible :) .

yes, it is true that you can go in and out of the patrol circle and not get attacked a way to fix this would be for a plane entering a patrol circle will get attacked when the plane enters the patrol circle the first time and every 15 minutes there after

I agree with pathfinder- as soon as in opponents air comes into an opponents blue circle the interceptors - should well-intercept not wait 15 min.

i'm not insanely active, but interceptors worked just fine for me, I took out Nat Chinas entire bomber fleet a few days ago.
