Massive war, Poland vs. Northern States...

Forum attachment

Here's the world right now.

For a long time the NUS and the SUS have been allies of mine (Poland), as well as Caucasus. Together, we managed to defeat a rival coalition of 5 players (I was assigned the hardest target - Sweden. I still have a log of my war progress somewhere else on the forum).

However, the alliance is falling apart. I somewhat expected this, since you can't win as a coalition and we need 3 remaining players to retire for our gold. So one must go...

My current economy is pretty strong, except that I have so many provinces (my provinces are mostly small) that they eat up all my food, and I'm doing desperate moves to balance my sheet. I've also got an essential monopoly on rare materials - I produce more than double per hour than what NUS, my competitor, has.

However, my rampant expansion has left my army in somewhat worn shape, and I still have a few cities running on level 1 industrial centers, plus plenty of damaged buildings. I have a massive backlog on repair work in conquered provinces...

My navy, which will be the likely instrument of war against NUS should we enter combat, is slightly inferior to his. I have engaged on a rampant destroyer-producing spam to counter his submarines, but his submarines are relatively high - leveled and numerous. As of right now I accompany all cruisers, battleships, and carriers with two destroyers. I have the advantage in carriers, of which I was the leader in the server - Kurwalinear Motion was the first carrier to come out in the server (and the first capital ship), Polska Pride came shortly after (following NUS' first battleship), and a third, Crack-kow, is slated to come online in a few hours (I've already prepared all the naval bombers required to load it).

Northern States has an army slightly smaller than mine, but his is relatively fresh. He's only had to fight 1 of our enemies (whereas I took on 2) and he's got a large sea that protects him, so he hasn't had to spend anything on fortifications. As a result, he's got large stacks of resources to draw from. His navy is also pretty sneaky - before we cut relations, I had intel of the location of at least 12 submarines (with a few more hidden among his destroyers). He also has more battleships (2, USS Kickass and USS Suck it, against my Dankhavetsky). However, his production is much lower than mine, and if I can survive his rampant production, I may be able to deplete his stocks. The challenge is surviving the initial onslaught.

Caucasus, my trustworthy and longtime ally, has fallen considerably from the former heights he attained. He once had the strongest land-based force in the server, but mismanagement has made him fall to 4th in the server - and in this situation, 4th means last (he's behind some NPCs). He didn't have a standing navy until recently, and currently he only has one submarine, two destroyers, a cruiser, and a battleship ("USS" Hondo Lane - wonder where the USA designation came from!). He's got heavy tanks and massive land-based stacks, but even Southie's pitifully small navy could defeat his and shut down his convoys.

Southern States ("Southie") is the relative Caucasus to NUS. It's got a pitifully weak navy as well (he lost to an NPC) and he has a very bad success rate at land invasions (he also lost to an NPC). However, he's recovered considerably to take over part of Egypt (with NUS assistance, of course). His navy, like NUS, consists of mostly submarines, but he has a higher ratio of destroyers as well. He also owns just one cruiser, and owns no capital ships. His land-based forces and his navy combine to give him only 60-ish units, but considering how much NUS adores him and donates units, he could be potentially dangerous to Caucasus. Especially with those submarines and his large stacks of stored Foreignade(TM).

There's one more active player left in the game, either Libya or Syria, but he's literally nothing (hasn't even bothered to conquer anything yet) and we hardly consider him a threat. As far as our spying goes, he doesn't have much industrial capacity either. He's not allied to anyone, although he considers the States a much larger threat and could potentially swing towards my side, although the States could probably crush him with just a few light tanks.

Thus the server stands.

This is the primary issue. NUS has, over Beirut, had quite an argument. SUS captured it but forgot to station a garrison, thus enabling the city to rebel and join Caucasus. SUS went crying to mama North and they're blaming it on a Caucasusian invasion. As such, NUS landed troops, took over the city, and is now sending smallish swarms at Caucasus' relatively undefended border (he's killing off NPC Russian Empire right now).

Caucasus employs a lot of slower-moving units (medium tanks, heavy tanks, railroad guns) and it would take too long to push his units back over, by which NUS might've made even more tanks or something.

Caucasus has appealed to me, as his powerful patron saint, to help him.

I gave NUS and SUS a 36-hour ultimatum to withdraw and hand back over Beirut, plus pay compensation (in the form of Food, of course). So far I have no response except for a message from NUS to "stay out of this". Except, of course, if Caucasus goes down, I'll have to face SUS and NUS alone, and Caucasus has saved me once or twice. So I can't stay out of it.

I'm currently at work kiling out Soviet and it'll be some time before I can swing full force to the invasion. To help, I've already sent Polska Pride (my second carrier), six destroyers, two submarines, and a cruiser to the northernmost Atlantic - if the ultimatum runs out, I'll come out and swing southward along his coast, and damage his dockyards and maybe even sink one of his battleships.

So yea. This thread's just going to be dedicated to the strategic situation at hand. If you guys have any suggestions about how to resolve the situation or kill off NUS, this is what the thread is about. I really don't have a good plan at the moment.

Nuke 'em!

The past is a foreign country.

Update: I've officially declared war on NUS and SUS. Also, for some reason, we suddenly gained two more players. In day 24 or something. This is crazy.

Welcome Spain and England to our messed-up, rocket-attack-each-other-for-fun server!

Anyway.

I've realized that my army isn't going to be strong enough to fight NUS, but my navy is strong enough to take the challenge. And I have one advantage over NUS' navy-he focused on battleships. I focused on carriers. Battleships are big and slow, and actually take a good chunk of damage from naval bombers. So if I find one of his battleships, all I really need to do is swarm it with destroyers, subs, and aircraft, and I'll be good to go.

Accordingly, I already have my first kills. Against North, I sent planes from one of my carriers to kill off a convoy that I suspect was headed towards my frontiers (thus the newspaper now says "1,500-none", gg much?). Against South, I killed off one of his cruisers that happened to pass by off the coast of my little Albanian colony. I sent a squadron (one cruiser, two destroyers) and gave that cruiser a solid beating. I didn't escape casualties, but I had a pretty low number of them.

I'm still trying to work out a ceasefire between both nations. I haven't caused enough damage to them to make them think about pulling back on their own, and at this stage there's still plenty of hot tempers to go around (including Caucasus vowing to do some rude things to NUS' mom...of course, in all caps). Right now the SUS and NUS are pretty sympathetic to my attempts to get peace, but my ally Caucasus is still pretty into the war business, so this might get a little messy.

Also, England got scared shiteless from seeing my carriers sail right by his coast and is now building fortifications like mad. Hohoho.

Don't build nukes, they're such a waste of time and resources.

I guess your tactic of using naval bombers to stop them from reinforcing their Middle Eastern territories or invading you is your best option currently until you can build your infrastructure up to have all the food.

Update, guys!

Caucasus is getting rekt pretty bad and finally decided to follow my suggestion and form a line of defense at a choke point (but he's already lost a good number of tanks, RIP).

Spain declared war on me as well, and the States no longer trust me and I'm caught with most of my troops away from the coasts that they'll be likely to attack.

At this point, I might need to draw my navy back to cover the coast. Which means that I'll have a few enemy convoys slip through. Which would make life really hard for Caucasus. Sorry.

At least my food production is in the green.

Another update:

Some massive action in the northern Atlantic!

All three carriers have seen action today against seemingly endless swarms of submarines and little convoys trying to sneak through.

ORP Kurwalinear Motion took the hardest hits, losing a squadron of planes and losing one of her escorts, as well as coming pretty close to death herself. I'm forced to draw her in a retreat back to port to restock, essentially counting her useless for the next day or so.

My other carriers did fairly well, surviving the onslaught in reasonable condition and killing off a good number of convoys.

My cruiser squadron in the Med got destroyerswarmed (11 destroyers, really?), so I'm no longer able to kill off convoys going in that area. That means more work for my tanks...

I need to figure out how to break a naval force back in there, but with rockets and destroyers everywhere, it might be real dangerous to do so.

The Poland Empire!

Really late update:

I abandoned the match long ago: Apparently the server wasn't on anti-cheat, and my ally Caucasus caught Northie admitting that he was using alts in England and Spain - which was why both of those countries decided to attack me at almost the same time, and coordinated so perfectly with NUS' units.

Being a proper gentleman and a rule-abider, I abandoned the match along with Caucasus. Won't play with alt cheaters.
