After the war, the destruction during the invasion of Germany had definitely done some de-nazification. Germans just wanted the war to end. After that they tried to move on as if it never happened. Many Nazi war criminals walked free and lived normal lives right after the war. Thankfully modern Germans are far better educated than the past and are not secret Nazis or anything, but after the war most Germans simply wanted to move on and leave things in the past.Brando Dilla wrote:

Improving living standards? They improved living standards until about 1943, then by 1944 everyone was on rations and being bombed daily by the allies. When Hitler was ‘elected’, he wasn’t actually that well known. Propaganda then took over.Carking the 6th wrote:
