Motorized Infantry vs Mechanized Infantry

I'm wondering whether it is better to pursue motorized infantry or mechanized infantry as part of my melee stacks. My main, major melee stacks consist of medium tanks, and either motorized infantry or mechanized infantry, as well as support units like artillery and anti air that can be added or subtracted as necessary.

What I want to know is if there are substantial differences between motorized infantry and mechanized infantry that make one of these units significanty better than the other; whether it be in certain doctrines, or in general.

Any help would be appreciated.

Motorized infantry can Scout and kill enemy infantry units.

Good against anti tank bad against armored car

mechanized country is slower can kill enemy infantry units

Good against armored car bad against anti tank

You say you have medium tanks they are good against armored car

so go motorized infantry. They have bonus at axis

Thank you. I usually play as Axis, so it should be effective.

I also have anti air which provides a nice strength bonus against light and heavy armour, especially when defending.

Have you looked at the unit stats? The two units play completely different roles in the game. One is a fast scout that can attack unarmored units, but can't do anything else. The other is an all around workhorse, attacking or defending, with lots of HP and anti air defense. Its only weakness is heavy armor, so its natural pairing is with tank destroyers or medium tanks, but it's faster than those units so it may be better if working alone. If you see a stack of heavy armor, go around it and let other stacks deal with it.

In general, don't look for the perfect stack. There is no such thing. Every battle of every war is different. Consider building specialized stacks in response to what you expect to battle days down the line. That's the real secret of stack composition. That, and knowing when to retreat or go around the enemy to target their weaknesses while avoiding your own.
