My NOOB days

Well, here is the story,

I joined first in early 2020 with the username Captain Barbarossa

I joined the tutorial CoN as Morroco

And decided to use all my starting gold building infantry

Then I wanted commandos, so I waited until they were available.

I got bored after two days, so I invaded Spanish morroco, lost 2 infantry but took them over

I began flexing about it in the newspaper  and offered peace to Spain

He refused and said he would take me over

I sent one infantry to land in Gibraltar, fool that i was, and provoked war with the UK

For what it's worth, here's mine. I'm still not very far out of my noob days as I don't play as often as lots of people.

So I first joined in October 2021 (as Lady Aragosta, predictably) as Morocco, same as you. I wasted the first couple of days on fortifying and developing my industry, before I'd quite worked out that actually industry is only useful in provinces with resources. I didn't really care then because I had Unlimited GoldTM. Everyone else left me alone as most of them were scrapping over mainland Europe. I did ally with United Kingdom, mainly so I could use Gibraltar.

After a few days of doing nothing I tried to invade Western Sahara. Took me an embarrassing length of time - I think another three days? to capture it and set my K/D into the death spiral it has yet to break free of.

I didn't try for the Spanish invasion until I'd completely quelled the Saharans. Took me a while to get as far as capturing Malaga, and when I did Spain's player informed me that he was tired of attacking me and wanted peace. Fool that I was, instead of pressing my advantage I folded and joined his coalition.

I made a great big navy I had no use for, which included a lot of battleships I couldn't really afford without cracking out the gold.

Then I started fighting Algeria, Tunisia and Libya. Mostly with tanks, because I thought infantry and artillery were boring. I was more interested in air and naval units, none of which were much use, although the battleships came in useful emptying people's cities.

After that I went inactive (not from lack of interest but because I was using a shared computer I didn't have access to all the time) and my coalition won without me, so I was cheated out of my gold reward.

About six months later I returned to Call of War as the United Kingdom. I fared a little better here, finally working out what artillery was for, but I wouldn't have survived the first few days if I hadn't been allied with Yugoslavia, who kept giving me advice in addition to what I was getting from an irl player. Among the siller things I did were wasting time on AIs rather than going for France straight away, building a defensive wall of submarines around the Channel long after my coalition had flattened Europe, and not immediately backstabbing Northern USA but instead dithering, because I was unwilling to go to war with more than one person at once.

It wasn't until my first HWW game that I really started getting the hang of things.

I’ll pull out one of first games in a sec… not sure if I should do the turkey or South us one…

CarKing the 6th of the Abrahamic Caliphate

Why not both? But Turkey first.

One at a time.. gotta go in succession so I can come in with other later on when least expected!

It was a very long time ago… I sadly don’t remember all the details to well. I do know that it was not my first game though, and that I had the strategy of building one of each building (but no industry at ALL.) I think my allies were like Romania or something and I was also friends with

Finland? I also don’t think I knew how to use art too well. Either way, I conquered all of mainland Arabia (not sure about Egypt) I believe I also took Greece. I have one memory of asking my allies if I should move my capital from Istanbul to Ankara since it was center in my country, with them saying something like sure. I think my memory is wrong though and this was during my brief stint in Supremacy, where I did that and ended up leaving the game not too long after, not really playing much again.

Anyhow, my end eventually came in the form of the Russian Empire, who quickly moved and was a good player. This my only memory of being the raging noob that think getting their ass kicked means the enemy is a golder. I think Finland betrayed me for them when they attack me, which made me send my whole fleet over to attack them and St.Pete’s, but then I decided after a little bit to send it back. Either way I was killed by the Russian Empire. This was all the way back in like 2017 or 16 when I was more of a sore loser, but either I think I left the game until 2018 after that.

My memory sucks if you have not noticed.

2017? Don't blame you. In 2017 I hadn't even heard of Call of War.

Hello,

Ah, the memories of my noob days! Back in early 2020, I started as Captain Barbarossa in CoN. I dove into the tutorial as Morroco, and without much strategy, spent all my starting gold on infantry. My craving for commandos led to waiting, and boredom soon followed. Invading Spanish Morocco, I celebrated in the newspaper, even though it cost me 2 infantry. Offering peace to Spain, but they declined, threatening takeover. I pulled a stunt, sending an infantry to Gibraltar, unknowingly provoking war with the UK. Lessons learned!

Thanks

I am still not sure if it was 2017 or 18 but it does not even matter… I know what nuclear ships still existed.

This game came out in like 2015. Forums seems to have came out then as well…

Those outdated units still haunt my achievements list. Just once, I'd like the opportunity to build some.

Damn Mediterranean map!

CarKing the 6th of the Abrahamic Caliphate

There's already CoN and RtW. I can see why the Mediterranean one would have come across as redundant, to be honest.

So are heavy tanks but we keep those ;(

CarKing the 6th of the Abrahamic Caliphate

If Bytro booted those I'd not even notice quite frankly. I build light in Pan-Asian and medium in Allied and Comintern. I've heard they're quite good in Axis, though, so if they take me up on that you can direct the hate of the Axis players in my direction.

Some year/years before 2020, i joined this game and the only thing i remember is that the game was too slow and milita took 18 hours to produce. I was Italy and some country and canada invaded me. And army destriyed notifications!!!

I forgot about it, until April 1st 2021 when i joined this game again, i learnt fast as i read the wiki guide, and a very kind player called Krass introduced me to the forums and invited me to their alliance. Which was kind and gradually started winning games.

The President

Karl von Krass was your mentor?!
