nuclear bomb destroy the whole area not the point?

I launched nuclear bomb to the enemy's group in the area where I have troops, too. I targeted the point of enemy group but my several groups in the same area but different point were destroyed, too.

nuclear attacks have an area of effect they destroy. unlike conventional rockets and bombardment units, this aoe (are of effect) damages friendly units as well as the enemy. The aoe is approx 50 km, or roughly the size of an artillery units range circle.
