I thank those who have responded . I do not want to continue the debate with you but somewhere else and continue to suggest the possibility of having the same game maps with the gold / no gold option and especially the distribution of different resources from the current mainly for 22/50/100 player maps(actuaally not balanced) . I wish you good luck !

Removed.

ETA Guilty as charged.

Hey, can I sign up for the next game here?

I'm pretty sure the moderators don't have editing privileges to alter JavaScript or Java or Python or whatever language(s) that CoW is coded in. That's for the development team. The devs probably do play Cow and some are on the forums as admins/mods, I think. But only official Bytro procedures will change the game's features. To call the moderators janitors is an understatement. But they aren't network administrators either. They manage the front-end game and commerce services of the servers. But I'm sure Bytro has in-house employees that manage the back-end operability and generic controls.

So, think about the forum and game moderators as community supervisors. They volunteer as moderators and the like to take care of the day to day fairness of the game and to report to the devs when errors do occur. I'm sure also that Bytro has their own software testers and quality assurance people to help the devs catch errors. But the community of users is likely to find the little (and occasionally big) errors that the Q/A people miss. That's why some moderators are also "game operators" as they pay attention to functionality within the game. But even they mostly just have data editing capabilities for matches and users and their accounts. When they receive report of an error, they have to send the data up the chain to Bytro's dev team because -- again -- they aren't employees of Bytro.

I know that a lot of these concepts might be difficult to follow for the majority of players who know little about the software development cycle and the players involved in putting out programs and the like. But it would be nice if those ignorant among us would first try to educate themselves a little bit as to how and why things are done before actually complaining about how and why things are done.

As a developer, myself, I understand how this works -- in general -- and I don't need to know the specifics of Bytro's operations to be able to guess out how they likely accomplish putting this game out. But, even if I'm off a little bit on some procedures, the nuances of what I've said in this post are typically true in a large scale network-based application.

Well said and I agree.

My job isn't as a developer, but within the company I work for, part of my position's responsibility, is to be a "clearing house/point of contact" for a lot of customer/employee concerns with tech issues. Yes, I can and do make decisions, but often times, I just forward information to the right department to get it fixed.

Others within the company often think we fix things ourselves, when it's IT that does it. We just pass the situation on to the right place.

Also, to the QA process, as extensively as something can be tested, someone else will always find something that was overlooked. If for no other reason than the item behaved differently than thought, or someone tried a new circumstance with that item that wasn't conceived of before.

For what this game is, I enjoy it. Room for improvement, yes. Still fun to play though.

Do not show any response on the real problems of this game that I explained to you and on the use of tricks that allow you to cheat at any time and that the Bytro is very narrow because it holds through this gains .The prints of Bytro? Are you kidding me ? You could print yourself anything ... hahaha ... it's really absurd except that if someone pays to play (the game allows it despite you speak of)rules), has to play and if he is prevented is not exactly legal. So the fact of playing or not PL interests me little I mean to belittle your efforts but will never be a clean game if not solved all these problems. Probably my head (open air) this has got to be a little while you continue to keep your head down and do not understand what happens around you. I suggest you nicely a cold shower?
These false accusations are very discusting to read and makes disrespect to you.

Here is one who woke up this morning and forgot to turn on the brain. Maybe you do not know where you are now .Do you understand when one writes or not ?

How do I join and play I the league?

So apparently I am a dumbass for following the rules in these games- the rules against ROW outside of a coalition are entirely voluntary and not at all enforced.

Of course his alliance mate playing Turkestan had similar relations.Forum attachment

Remember this if playing against vontakoda or Ordo66...

Please Remember: RoW is not allowed to give outside your coalition!

As Turkistan has violated the ROW rule twice. Once to get inside my provinces and the second time to threaten my provinces from a country he could not have gotten to without violating the rules. I see no other option but to resign from the match. I will not play against a cheater on my border. Unfortunately this will also impact on my coalition. So a cheating Turkistan ruins the game for not just one player but several.

You can also withdraw my name from future play.

trycster please stay and deliver justice to those cheaters

Xarus will such players be punished

Outright violation once again, east siberia is an AI controlled country. Siberia and turkestan launch attacks through AI neutrals, proving their RoW abuse once again. This is clear evidence of poor sportsmanship and misconduct.

You're allowed to use RoW from AI to attack

So when did this rule get added?

the rules on page 1 say:

  • A maximum of 3 players per coalition.
And

  • It's not allowed to give right of way (ROW) or shared map (SM) outside a coalition.

so either a country is in your alliance and you can share access or it is no longer and you can't...

There isn't an "except if its an AI then do whatever the f you want clause written there...

Those rules are between players. AI is not included in any rules except for the peace period.

Very nice... so you invite players to what is billed as a fair and honorable battle then add a layer of unwritten rules that we are supposed to guess at? At least be up front about it so we can be prepared. If AI are fair game then consider adding that to future rule sets. As a new player you rules on page 1 are very clear its either your 2 teammates or relations have to be peace or worse, and I feel like me and my allies have been given the shaft.
