Rest in Peace COW (and Bytro in general)

Honestly, the writing has been on the wall for a while, but I think it’s rather safe to say with the current situation. This game is reaching the end of its playable phase. Soon, it will become just another mobile shitfest where the winner is the one with the largest wallet. Bytro, standing as one of the final fortresses against mobile greed, has been conquered by the capitalist hunger of its shareholders. I have very little hope that this tide towards pay to win orientation will be stemmed. Other mobile games have long fallen, and games always had limited lifetimes anyway. There might be a few reversals but it’s very clear where things are headed and will end up eventually. To put it simply, it’s about time to say an early goodbye.

Not many people from the two golden ages of this forum remain, but whatever is left or returns may hopefully come here. Share your memories or rant about the situation. Enjoy our last moments together before the capitalist bomb destroys us all.

Forums and all the people and games within it were definitely the highlight for me. It wasn’t and will never be the same without the community that was built here. I’d name people but there are too many to count and most are gone. Regardless, it was a pleasure. Hopefully we all move on and live happy lives, maybe look back at a random memory of this place. I still use “Noble” in my daily language and I still will until I’m dead!

Rest in peace.

I don't think your ability to detect golders is as good as you think it is :)

66 game played 26 solo win 31 coalition victory guy who is obsessed about his stats and opened a second account for this he is playing as bhutan and saying I'm not golder LOL

A second account? Lol why would I do that, I've been playing on this one since 2020

And I chose Bhutan to attempt a playthrough solo, so I even have screenshots of this game showing no gold usage. But keep on harassing randos when you get butthurt about losing on the other side of the map

I chose canada and attacked randomly usa and closed map , yes butthurt :)

winning with a small country is not hard when your big neighbours inactive but a guy who obsessed about stats wont choose bhutan as solo without gold and you are

if you havent gold probably you joined game with at least 5 player to guarentee victory

I have a game like that 5 player at asia 2 at africa 2 at south america all of them attacking me at north america and trying to give victory to asian coalition all of them from same group

Lol sure thing buddy

@Undaunted your statement says so much about you and so little about the game... You do realize that?

Pls answer the following truthfully if you dare.

What or how much/many is/are your :

- K/D?

- L/C? (or whatever it is called in English; the lost/conquered provs ratio is what mean)

- gold stash?

- unit cards stash? Name specifically how many Flame tanks too pls. (Why? Bc that is an indicator of how you play)

- rss cards stash?

- speed booster cards stash? (build, produce & research)

From that anyone would be able to establish your capabilities, among which you capability to identify a golder...

Unfortunately, you might lie and thwart the excercise and we have no way of checking whether you tell the truth.

On the other hand, you should realize there is no reason to lie, bc no one knows you for real anyway.

I won a map as that little Tuva country between Soviet and I believe Mongolia without buying gold.

I also won a map as Nepal. Again without buying gold.

Besides, players complaining about gold are only those that always lose and/or always go inactive. Every other player simply has a stash of stuff for emergencies.

Before complaining about stats, would you care to share your number of games played, vics (solo & coa), K/D, L/C, the size of your stash of gold, boosters & unit cards? I also love to know the number of Flame Tanks in your stash, bc that almost tells everything about you and why you lose.

If you won't, I must assume it all amounts to nothing and that you are thus not a very good player yet. That in turn does not mean the other player necessarily must be a golder, but it doen mean you have to improve a lot still.

I NEVER said I am the best... On the contrary, I said I am a halfwit still in this game, currently only on place 9000something and I said there are many players much better than me.

What I did say:

- is that anyone can do what I do without having to buy gold.

- is that other factors are more important to secure victory than gold.

- is that moaning about gold making you lose many maps is utter and complete bullocks.

- is that golders are NOT a problem, bc they are few and mostly beatable.

And back to the purpose of this thread, I said;

- WBS are a curse, bringing the gold-magic into every game.

- the new update is a cursed one, bc it dumbs down a core element of the game in favor of 12yr old dimwits on phones, who will still find the game too slow and too complicated.

And if Stillfront/Bytro continues like this with the dumbification of the game, all serious players will leave.

Yup. The main point of online games (or games in general) is having fun, whether you win or lose.

I feel this deeply—it's like watching a cherished old town slowly crumble as it’s overtaken by flashy developments. The game, the community, the memories… they’ve been a part of our lives in a way that’s hard to explain to outsiders. The spirit here was more than just pixels and avatars; it was real connections and experiences that can't be replaced by quick cash grabs.

Bytro and this forum held a unique space as one of the few remaining places where community felt genuine, where strategy mattered, and where a game wasn’t just a transaction. As pay-to-win mechanics sweep through, it's disheartening to see something we value reduced to yet another wallet-driven contest. We’re not just losing a game; we’re losing a place that felt like home.

Thanks for sharing these memories, and for being here through it all. It's been an honor to strategize, compete, and just hang out with such a passionate group. Here’s hoping we take these memories and connections with us, and keep a bit of the “Noble” spirit alive in our own ways.

Farewell to a golden era—and to everyone who made this journey unforgettable.

I don't remember you really, but all good things come to an end I guess. Farewell...

If that old golden age was still here like a year ago, I’m sure you’d be a part of the old gang that made this place so fun… maybe in a year or two if this somehow blows over and the game somehow recovers it may be possible?
