there are two example
1- there are 5 enemy ınterceptor on patrol
2- there are 3 enemy ınterceptor on patrol
for two situation will u send ınterceptors with tactical bombers or other planes or just send ınterceptor as patrol
ıt seems suitable for first example send together because maximum count and share taken damage
but second example ? we should send just 5 ınterceptor or 5 ınterceptor + 5 tactical bomber
seems like if less than 5 planes, the loss may be 1 planes per round. If more than 5, there is chance you lose 2 by one time.
I used to have 10 vs 5 and both lost 5 at the end as I had one round lost 2 planes by the trick of X factor which is a lucky factor or bad luck factor. Random

of course, you could even go mad and add rocket-figters
and every different tech level of each plane.
eg. interceptor level 1 * 5, to level 7 * 5, = 35
Tac 35 etc
totalling 145 planes per stack

you will lose fewer planes because the damage received is spread over more units
