Ever had those moments where you make a killer stack and you feel so good about it? I just did. Day 9 in World at War, and I know that no one else will rule the seas with this stack around :)

And take a peek at the stats:

A perfect all-around naval stack.

Anyways, feel free to share your favorites here as well. I'll be posting more stacks here whenever I get really good ones.

P.S. Advice for Naval players: Allied and Pan Asian doctrines are great!

why would you build rrg with you already have plenty of arty. Also at is pretty useless if you have medium or heavy tank already.

Now I know you're trolling :)

You build RRG when your opponent has strong arty (so your arty would suffer), and they have good air cover (so your bombers would suffer). This is when a lot of games turn to RRG. It usually doesn't start with RRG, it escalates to RRG.

And what is that about AT being useless, are you high? If your opponent is building heavy tanks, you go all in on anti-tank units. Attack bombers, artillery, and your last line of defense are AT guns or tank destroyers. These defensive units will keep the tanks off of your artillery so the artillery can keep shooting, not getting run over.

You never throw tanks into tanks, or arty into arty, that's like bashing a rock into a rock. Think rock/paper/scissors.

But rrg is crap air defense

Tanks are terrible substitutes for ATs, except maybe TDs in certain situations. The best AT substitute is AA. I'd argue that AA makes AT essentially unnecessary in most good stacks.

If you read the post, youโ€™d see a primary strategy is to add AA, since they donโ€™t slow the stack down.

Someone earlier said aa slows down the stack

lots of people say

at is crap unit

Militia are good for defense in dangerous situations

RRG are like long range heavy artillery, very hard to beat

Very good against big stacks

They say to keep rrg separate form your main stack

So they can attack from a distance

Not for RRG, they are so slow they donโ€™t slow down.

Very true, especially at higher levels, especially Axis doctrine.

What a lot of people do is look at their starting AA unit, and try to use is to fight infantry on day 1, and it's terrible. Level 1 AA fighting infantry, the worst possible matchup. So they think "AA sucks" and they never build one again.

What they fail to realize is that high-level AA is an amazing unit, when used properly. Which is to defend against airplanes and heavy armor. But those units don't appear on day 1, so they never try it, and since they don't look at the actual stats of units at different levels, they have no clue about AA or good unit usage generally :)

The same can be said for any unit.

There are lots of players that simply donโ€™t understand things like stealth units, terrain bonuses, upgrading, and the benefits of ranged combat.

Yup. You could say that the worst AA advocate is that it is in the initial unit stacks.

Shut up, Brando. There's really no reason to keep shouting to us to stay on topic, interesting viewpoints are developing and do you really want to stop that?? The subject in itself is uninteresting (there ARE no favorite stacks, they are task-based), if you're irritated about that take the thread from your watch list. Many threads derail, I remember a recent thread about playing France HWW into a heated debate about overstacking iirc; what is wrong with this one and saying it every 10 seconds, even connecting the issue to people's intelligence??

So basically, FU and STFU, you're not a mod here and it seems you're the only one who takes offense in this. Get lost.

So, what is your favorite method of growing tulips?

They need to grow more Panjimian tulips.
