I have noticed here on the forum that it is not good to joke about or defend Nazi Concentration camps but it is perfectly OK to joke about, defend and encourage people to "go to the Gulag"...why is that?

Yes we all know the history of the Nazis as well as the Soviets(it seems we have people denying Soviet atrocities and only focus on the Nazis)

What makes the Soviet atrocities less atrocious than the Nazis?Is it because the Soviets have received less publicity than the Nazis?Is it because the Soviets fought with the Allies and contributed to the defeat of the Nazis, therefore all the wrong doings of Stalin Soviet Communism can be ignored and be swept under the carpet?

The Gulags were definitely not a holiday destination.It was an oppressive, racist,murderous labor prison camp system that made captive people worked themselves to death or being executed if they don't or couldn't work.The Soviet Empire was built on the backs of those imprisoned people in the atrocious Gulag camps, not to mention the mass killings and purges.

I am not comparing apples and oranges.I am saying that BOTH apples and oranges were bad.Those that are trying to compare Soviet Gulag camps with Nazi Concentration camps or trying to say the Soviets were better because they defeated the Nazis are the ones trying to compare apples and oranges.The fact that the Soviets did "similar things" can not make them heroes.You can not say I rescued/liberated you from an oppressive system and then go and implement a system that are being separated with a hair thickness margin from the first one.

I just feel that a person is hypocrite if you condemn Nazi Concentration camps but not Soviet Gulag camps.

Both are equally horrific and disgusting...

With a profile name as Cecil Rhodes it does not sit comfortable with me as a born South African.

Cecil Rhodes expropriated land from black people and tried to overthrow the the Transvaal government with the Jameson Raid which was a failure and was the main reason why he resigned his position.

Cecil John Rhodes and Lord Kitchener are from the same "Whatsapp group",if Rhodes have succeeded and not resigned, would he have been part of the concentration camps that killed close to 30k Afrikaans women, children along with their native farm workers?

Rhodes was a sickly child and as a grown man had a weak heart,he was overall a sick man...

I myself do acknowledge our heritage but I am not happy or proud about it(I am referring to the Apartheid era)

No, and i would be foolish to do so. Both sets of my Grandparents moved my mother and father, children at the time, out of Rhodesia in 81. Thank god they did, as we probably would have suffered very much if they did not leave. I firmly believe that Afrika should have never been left to itself, and that there should have been greater settling attemps to create Majority-White countries there to avoid the situation that we have now.
