Militia are nuisance troops that have little value
Can you expound on this?

It's not a surprising attitude. Most people have not seen militia used effectively, in large numbers, in an offensive role. Hint: it's not a front line unit.

I recently tried a massive frontal militia assault in a clash of nations map

Awful results

my k/d dropped by 0.3 and i left the game

This.

Now build them again and do the opposite of what you tried the first time. Use them to infiltrate behind the enemy's front line, on a large map where you have unguarded space to penetrate. Think the Chilean coast (mountains, hills), or the Brazilian coast (forest). Then start taking land in the enemy's interior, staying AWAY from fights. If you get local superiority, like a 5:1 against an artillery unit, go ahead and take it, otherwise stay AWAY from enemy stacks. Take unguarded industry, recruitment centers, cut infrastructure, demolish airfields to cut the enemy's air transport grid, just be a nuisance and stay alive. A bunch of these running around in the interior, avoiding combat, can stay alive for a long time and cause a lot of havoc for 1/10 the price of a strategic bomber force. And it drives enemies crazy. Forces them to divert forces away from the front line, slows down their production, demoralizes them.

Militia == Special Forces
