Tank or Artillery

what do you prefer for first days in game 4 artillery ? 4 tank ?

tanks give more damage to infantry than artillery but I think light tanks seems not very well at the beginning cos you havent tactical bombers or rockets you cant defend your tanks very well ıf enemy has one anti tank ıt ıs enough to defence maybe defender can build fortress for his plain provinces at the border

My ground unit mix at the end of the first week is likely to be made up of light tanks (40%), infantry (30%), artillery (20%), and anti-aircraft units (10%) ... 8)

Mine is probably a lot of tanks and armoured units. Some infantry, and some artillery productions

Depends. If surrounded by AI I go with arty. If human players, I go tank heavy.

It depends on resources, but mostly, I go arti heavy whatever the circumstances (tanks aren't really that good early game).

That is a good point. But I find that out of the gate armored cars and light tanks are fast and you can take out an AI country or unsuspecting human player quickly before they can put up a coherent defense.

TBH I lean more on artillery in mid and late game. It is especially useful for taking out well defended AI without sacrificing your units.

they arent really that good later on either? :D

I'm predominantly a tank guy, particularly if you are rushing in a blitz thru Russia or some other large country in the 39 map. However, basic artillery is nor a bad combination with most units and they are a good cheap option for static defense ... 8)

not only for static; the -50% movement speed penalty on enemy terrain will give them a decent chance even against light tanks in open fields when used properly :D

Well, no, but actually yes. It depends on playstyle, but generally by late game tanks can, well, tank more damage while they speed through territory, so I guess it makes them better late game?
