The Control over straights and waters

Hey I think it would be a rly good idea to be able to control Straits when you own the territory on each side of it, for example the Panama Strait, the us owns it in 1939 - historic world war, it would be cool if they added a feature so that if you have the superior strength in that area that you could stop ships from going through,

And that if someone with superior strength were to cross there you couldn't stop it (for example if there's 5 ships guarding the straight and an other nations sends 10 through you can't stop em from moving through) I think it would be a rly good thing to add to the game

Similarly to some other ideas, this is interesting, and might be a good addition to the game - but it is possible to do without a specific feature, and even if Bytro wanted to implement it, it’s not the priority.

To simulate this using the controls we have at the moment, you could buy Premium and put your ships on Aggressive fire settings, then publish a newspaper article announcing that the Panama Canal for example is closed for business, unless someone wants to pay you to go through there.

Like many things in this game, it’s a good idea, but can be done yourself using your own ingenuity. Admittedly it’s harder to do this without Premium - essentially you just need to be quite active. However, Bytro sees this as a positive - you’re more likely to buy Premium, getting them more money! They have to make a profit, after all.

Yeah I have bought premium before (idh it rn) but setting ships on aggressive would mean that you go to war with a country by attacking their ships passing tho which is not ideal. It would be better if you had the opportunity to like make a blockade or block off the canal, without attacking anyone or sinking their ships.

In reality, that’s how it works - if you pass that strait, there is the threat of being sunk.

I think it would be better for the game, making it more interesting if it was a opinion to like build defenses on canals which is owned by the nation making other nations unable to move through without permission.

Here I'm not talking about just mindlessly bombing any ship who comes near that is unrealistic tbh

It is realistic and it’s what happens irl… like I said bytro has other priorities and this would be put at the bottom of a ‘would be nice’ list :)
