The food shortage killed, but I do think upkeep should be more important, and with this new railroad gun levels, I also support different level buildings for different level units, that way building would be important.Carking the 6th wrote:

More building could open up a new doctrine... perhaps commonwealth could be implemented...
But in all serious more upkeep would be good for encouraging people to use commintern, which most regard as being one of the west doctrines

That would have to be Denmark fighting off a German invasion in Clash Of Nations and managing to fight its way to Cologne and Berlin. The German player went inactive and then there was a terrible German AI vs the Sigma Danish AI that just fought it out for the rest of the game. Then I (Britain) just turned up and defeated them both (I left one Danish province unconquered out of respect. Enjoy your sovereignty, Odense). I am become party pooper, destroyer of fun.
