the problem with pay to win

its been a long time since i last played (i used to play around 2019/2020) and it has come to my understanding that the game is p2w i didnt mind it a lot at first because the game somehow needs to make money , but i didnt thought that it openly gave gold to people to spend so it forces other players to also pay gold to have even a chance at winning , this made the game kinda unplayable for me because i dont spend real money in the game so i was wondering if this was a problem that everyione had or just my bad luck.

in this photo there is PERSIA asking TIBET if the name of theyr alliance meant "we spend gold togheter" for the amount of gold that they spent till that point , and TIBET answered by saying that byro was the one "funding" them all the gold and giving them title to force the hand of other players to pay up and also spend a ton of gold or straight up surrender :| .

well i want to know about how yall felt and if you guys also meet tons of people that spend an unholy amount of gold making the game impossible to win , because if after spending 15 days building up just to loso to someone that is directly funded by bytro i dont think its even fun at that point. :wallbash

Bytro doesn't fund players period.

I've been playing 5 years and have only once encountered a player who just threw money/gold at the battlefield until he won. In some cases players may have a war-chest of saved gold but not enough to fund winning the game and most players in my experience - even those with deep pockets - want to play and win on an even playing field. otherwise what's the point.

The intro of war bonds has helped level things out.

Personally, since the introduction of war bonds and duties, I don't use gold anymore.

It became useless.

Is that a good thing?

Pay-to-win takes the fun out of gaming. It shifts focus from skill and strategy to spending money, making the experience unfair for players who just want genuine competition.
