To Victory! My First SOlo Win
To Victory! -My First Solo Win
I began the game as General Secretary of the U.S.S.R. My policy was to spread communism, and soon I found allies. Many were willing to join the East Bloc, Japan quickly turned socialist, followed by Mongolia, Iran, Turkey, Romania and Poland. China joined last alongside Australia.
However, my socialist movement quickly found enemies too. The United Kingdom, France and the United States created a coalition by the name of NATO, and claimed they would foresee my downfall. But when Germany, Spain and Italy refused to join either side, the West found itself alone.
The East Bloc remained united. All members had share mapped within themselves. I began industrialising the U.S.S.R and delivered a huge military boost in the east. Construction of the Motherland Line also began, a belt of formidable fortifications on my Euro Border. Artillery, anti tank and fighters roamed here, while light tanks, medium tanks and motorized infantry patrolled the far east. Meanwhile I oversaw the development of Romania and Poland. Romania’s industrial drive and plans were completely funded and created by me, and Poland was “granted” 6 Soviet fighter jets, and enough materials to double his German border fortifications.
So far, the Cold War remained. The West had sanctioned the USSR, and a war of words raged in news. The first real diplomatic incident came when I announced that the “governments of France and Britain cared nought for their people, and are driven by a mad thirst for more land and an evil expansion of their influence and money.” This did not go down well, of course, and a French Anglo fleet entered the Black Sea despite Soviet blockades. The Turko Romanian Soviet navies entered a tense stand off, and the Communist Party of the USSR gave the French and British 6 hours to exit or face war. The Anglo French left, and the East Bloc celebrated a “victory”.
Meanwhile my markets were blooming. I was assured with oil from Iran and Romania, Poland and Turkey provided my iron, and the Chinese and Japanese shared their crops. Afghanistan, the Balts, Finland and Manchuria had all fallen to the Soviet Empire. The East Bloc, I was certain, was near victory. But the KGB failed to detect a major shift between the Chinese Communist Party and the Japanese. When the USSR was finally alerted, it was too late.
China wanted Japan to hand over its occupied lands. Japan promptly refused, and began to arm her borders. I failed to engineer a treaty, and to my horror and shock the Chinese attacked Japan. The attack came as a surprise, but I acted fast. China was ousted from the Bloc, sanctioned, and warned to stop its attack on Japan. Soviet armies poured into Mongolia, and the Xingjian Border. The Chinese vaguely replied that they wished for war only with the West, and then attacked Soviet militants in Manchuria. So began the First Sino-Soviet War.
The War was fairly quick, Mongolia and Manchuria fell to the Chinese, but when Japan became AI, the USSR agreed to a peace. Strangely, China caved in to all Soviet demands, the USSR was granted Mongolia and Manchuria as well as North Korea. But the trust between the two great nations was already eroded, and the USSR placed 60% of its entire army on the Sino border.
Meanwhile Poland and Romania both became AI, and were easily occupied. The USSR then took Sweden and pushed into Bulgaria. Iran had taken Iraq alongside Turkey and the two were dominant in the Middle East. Soon the Cold War ceased, British, French and American governments gave way to AI, and the USSR was once again certain of victory as it conquered Alaska. An invasion of India went well, but just before the Soviet armies finished her off, the Second Sino-Soviet War erupted out of nowhere.
China’s sudden assault cost the USSR 200,000 casualties in hours. 60% of the Red Army fell. Chinese forces once again took Mongolia, Manchuria and North Korea. This time the war lasted longer, the USSR developed more, but once again, the Chinese sued for peace, gave all lands back, and all was well. The Soviets were now very wary of China, and for the first time in my military career, I began a slow, artillery fuelled campaign in Europe which overall cost me about 50,000 men and gave me the entire continent eventually. I focused on Asia, and began building up my armies again.
The Third Sino-Soviet War came, a shock like the rest. This time, China advanced right to the throat of Novosibirsk, and took the whole east and India. Xingjian attacked alongside China, and for the whole game the nation’s lands would change hands many times, and it was constantly bombarded. The USSR’s Line of Asia was built, the single greatest line of fortifications in my history. It stretched from the north to the Caspian (Above Afghanistan), three belts of lvl 3 forts, artillery, RRG, commandos, tank destroyers, elite fighters. China’s greatest asset was her air force, and so it was that the First Soviet Offensive failed to the cost of 50,000 casualties. The war went into a stalement, China grabbing everything beyond the Line of Asia, and the Pacific. However the Chinese did not interfere with the Soviet conquest of America.
The Soviet high command is not concerned, and the Soviets slowly consume Europe as the War in the East goes on. The USSR has been saved, due to one asset- infrastructure. So much has been built that from Moscow units can reach Novisibirk in 3 hours, and the Soviets are able to reinforce the east very quickly. Meanwhile the Chinese once again sued for peace. Fighting died down, however the war never officially turned to peace. The Soviets regarded it as peace however, and just as they began dismantling the line, China attacked.
The Fourth Soviet Sino War was extremely short. It was the biggest Chinese assault, but the Line of Asia held very firmly. The Chinese suffered 300,000 casualties. Peace came soon, and once again China became an ally of the USSR. To the surprise of no one, however, the Soviets were betrayed for the fifth time, and the Fifth(and final) Soviet Sino War began.
This war was different to the others, because for the first time the Soviets had mobilised SPAA and elite fighter jets. The Turkish and Persians liberated India(Both Persia and Turkey were gold users, they were stupid however, and suffered 1,300,000 casualties overall). As the Chinese airforce dwindled, the Soviets launched the Second Offensive. It gained ground back all the way to Irktusk, and Xingjian finally fell. Xingjian had been the weak spot of the Chinese frontline, and soon a bulge was created. More good news came, the Chinese airforce was virtually gone, and it had just 100 Iron in stock. This meant China could not recreate its armies of old, and so began the Final Offensive.
This time a combined Soviet army of 500, Turkish army of 200, and Persian army of 150 punched into China. The Soviets lead the main front, and quickly gained swathes of land. China herself had been turned into a super fortress, but with a massive armored force, it was breached. China sued for peace to no avail, the Soviets kept on advancing, and wreaked havoc. Finally China fell, and the Soviets cheered. In total some 1,700,000 casualties were suffered, over 900,000 induced. The Soviet’s peak was 800 units, and in the Sino Soviet Wars they had lost about 350 units. The victory was sweet, but quickly turned to betrayal. The Turkish and Persians betrayed the USSR, however they were easily quashed. The U.S.S.R had won. Europe and Asia had bown down to it, and given me my greatest and costliest victory ever.

the only reason i can give is pragmatism, the previous wars weakened the belligerents, and when new threats came, both parties declared peace.... except in this case the wars were stopped for practical reasons such as resting, and ecause of the fog of war i believe tthe chinese did not wish to willingly continue fighting without preparationBMfox wrote:
