Hay this is a list of my favourite countries in historical world war map,all of the countries I like IS IN MY OPINION
So if you say:hey playing US is better that Canada! That’s ok. But Canada is my opinion .... 
So here’s da list
1.USSR
Good economy
2 Canada
Also good economy and maple syrup
3.nationalist china
Quite big and good economy but low on fooood
4.UK
Has navy and good position
5.british India
Again also good economy
6. Australia
Good position and super well and over isolated
7.US
Has navy too
8.japan
ALSO HAS NAVY AGAIN
9.germany
Well prepared for WAR!!!
10.france
Even though it has bad economy, it still 50% prepared for war
P.S: good position = well isolated
Problem with historical is that if Germany is smart they can blitz through Poland and then USSR as the USSR has a lot of troops, just not very high level. If the Germans take the industrial areas, Minsk, Moscow, Kiev, Leningrad, etc. Then the USSR doesn't stand much chance.
