Maybe it's just an aesthetic piece. CoW 1942 is not, by any means, an accurate game, and maybe Bytro just wanted to tie it to the whole "WWII Theme" bit a bit more.
Ah, i remember the last time they write something like this, it was around late 2016, these letters were "hints" of a new map or feature, if i remember correctly it was about the 25 players 1939 historic map.
I have some hopes that this current letter might be hint to the long delayed 260 players ultimate war map, although the chances of that are very low, and i would wait for more letters to reveal more hints.

CoW is pretty much a slow game, i didn't noticed 3 years gone by so fast.

Anyone know how the Supremacy 1914 500 map is in terms of speed? The main issue with making the 260 player map would be speed, but if they figured it out in COW's sister game maybe they have a solution.
260 player map? Huh...sounds lie they'll dissolve all nations and make each state/region/province there own countries, just like the 500 player map in Supremacy 1914....

500 player map or 260 is a terrible idea.
Better they should work on design improvements like
1. GOLD DIET or restriction in game creation
2. Solve inactive issue by forcing people to make moves when signed up or be replaced
3. More transparent rules and better technical writing
4. more attempt to create balanced scenarios
5. more creative methods for game creation, for example setting up a game where the countries for the teams are pre determined.
6. return the market and diplomatic options taken away
7. All diplomatic options like a Trade Treaty to reduce or eliminate the % taken and allow for direct player to player options
And also Bring back units trade and change the resource trade option to be able to trade even with non coalition mates.

"Dear George" and "Dearest Anna" seems to be written during the war, but in "Dearest Alexandra" it seems the war was already over. I'm not sure yet of what it may hint into.
How long do you think until they initially release the thing.
I do not think it is a cosmetic. I saw these same 3 letters, i.e. Alexandra, Anna and George in S1914 also. There is something new coming up, which is not preset both in CoW and S1914 right now.
I am sure it is not 260 player map or any new map for that matter.

I suspect a 1946 βOperation Unthinkableβ scenario. Would explain the end of the war.
500p in s1914 is a x1 speed map, slow, real-action usually takes in the very first days until many go inactive or get defeated, mainly in europe, or after day 60 and above(when AI's get conquered)ITSAEROMF wrote:

a 500p map in s1914 can easily last 200 days
