Maybe not worst country, more like hardest to play. I'll start with my pick, Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan starts with three neighboring bots and two neighboring players. North US is very unlikely to attack you, so your only problem is Alberta. The thing is Alberta is the only commintern nation in North America. Coincidentally, more than half your environment is plains. Infact, Saskatchewan is nearly the most plains per country on the continent, and you're bordering the only nation on the continent with the doctrine known for tank spam. You can hardly take advantage of your environment to defend since what are you gonna do, out tank spam commintern? By the time Alberta has heavy tanks, there's nearly nothing you can do. Let's talk about bots, you can try to take yukon but you'd be fighting with two other nations over it, and you're the farthest from the capital. You can try to take Manitoba, but you'll be fighting with Ontario since it's the only bot they border. Your best bet is Montana but that's still risky. Now does this mean you can't make Saskatchewan work? No, but their starting position almost feels like they have everything going against them. It feels like they're supposed to be a bot but there'd be too many bots in that area if they did that.
Manchukuo is another horrible nation since its surrounded by 4 player nations and 3 AI. An it is mainly plains and tiny hills. If you dont ally with at least one nation in that area you are screwed especially if theres a coalition in the area. The nation is highly prone to AC and Light tank spam
I would say France is also pretty bad. It is surrounded by four player countries. The worst country in Historical World War is Poland because it is the one that always gets attacked first.
In historical it all depends on who you ally with as Poland if you have germany as an ally you can cripple the USSR before he can mobilize all its unitsvietcong2005 wrote:

It may be hard short term but in the long term poland has great potential. As long as you can hold out against the USSR beating Germany is actually quite easy (for experienced players). Just build forts and lots of doom stacks (can counter anything and have tons of arties). Poland can build its economy quickly. Taking out Germany (in my opinion) should start with a straight attack along the north at berlin. After that it is cool runnings.vietcong2005 wrote:
