Nah, I haven't taken a single screenshot of CoW in my life. I think he gave in because he thought my friend's army was much larger or something.Quasi-duck wrote:
He just gave in even though he had 50 HT? Yeah.... Do you have a screenshot?
What's the stupidest thing you've seen people/populations/provinces/armies do in Call of War?
People are very interesting beings. They eat, burp, and occasionally, they rebel.
What's the stupidest or weirdest thing you've ever seen happen to one of your provinces/armies/population?
--------------------
1. When provinces in Spain rebel and decide to join Karelia and Sweden.
2. When people (those greedy people!) eat a lot more food than your army. Like a lot. And that's how you get obesity, kids!
3. When a player sent militia one by one against a megastack of commandos and medium tanks...in a plains. And his army didn't even revolt or anything, went straight to the slaughter.

An erstwhile ally of mine once sent a stack of ground units (including 146 Anti-tanks) to sea from Alaska to Kamchatka without doing even basic recon and you all know what happened right. A group of about 7 subs was in the way and sank the whole lot (close to 200 ground units) with barely a sub or two lost. My ally gave up after that

I now have a new "stupidist" thing I ever saw. Names will remain anonymous due to not wanting to embarrass the bone head who did this!
In my most recent PL game, which has very strict rules surrounding gameplay, a certain coalition was under attack by the top coalition in the game at the time. For days this coalition had been begging to be friends with my coalition and sign a NAP. I simply assured them I had no plans to attack them now or in the future. I didn't want to officially NAP with them because even NAPs have "soft" rules in PL that by honor you shouldn't break. Sure enough his coalition mate Finland did come under attack. What was his response? He as Sweden instead of helping his ally, attacked Canada, which was beaten back. My coalition did attack the coalition his ally mate was fighting though, and we were winning and winning big. This gave his coalition mate a small chance of survival. What was his response? He attacked Germany from my coalition in a surprise sneak attack!
So to boil it down for you. Rather than help his coalition mate, this player purposely set out to send very large numbers of troops to die attacking and making new enemies! If I were Finland I would be so frustrated at this incredibly stupid play!
do not forget, he used 39 units to invade, took only took one province, and then lost all 39 units.
leaving tanks to defend cities.. At half hp half strength.- Cities are the best places to kill tanks.
- COW atually has some pretty nice nuances of strategy, and these are reflected in the stats of effective generals. But some of the dumb things people do.. yes i've done them all myself so i know from experience.
1) defending cities with tanks- half strength, half hp
2) pairing infantry with armored cars- this negates the speed of the AC's
3) Not using the attack ranges of navy appropriately. (attacking with a navy stack but only the battleship range comes in contact with the target so the other units in the stack are useless in the battle..
4) Not scouting ahead with air or AC's, and attacking blindly..
5) Using tanks for everything.. really they're good for very specific uses- definitely not the answer to every problem in the game.
6) Using interceptors to attack land units.
7) not using the range of artillery properly. putting them in a stack and when they get attacked the artillery is tied to the stack-useless for other than their basic strength and hp adds..
8 ) crossing water without scouting and clearing it of subs and naval vessels. some of the greatest opportunities to defeat an enemy is when they have to cross large bodies of water. it took days to build all those units, and in a matter of hours they are thrown away carelessly.
9) not placing units on terrain where they are strongest..(see #1 but applies to any unit. )
10) not creating strategy based on the strengths and weakness of units and the terrain, and that of the units they are attacking.. (ie.. DEATHSTACK IS MY ONLY STRATEGY!!!) Or how about putting an AT/infantry pairring between your artillery and enemy armor- when he attacks your AT will be strongest defending and have the best chance to deal damage..
11) leaving armies in the province center, easy target for rockets and other troops moving through or counter attacking the center.
Hope that helps someone.
Why heavy tanks are overrated.Pablo22510 wrote:
