I would find it interesting to hear how it all went down.
So there are many countries which pepole think are the BEST but what are the WORST countries? So what do you think are the worst countries? You can talk about any map. From my experience the European nations for 100 player map almost never win but i dont play 100 player map so it could be just a coincidence.on 100 player map African and South American nations seem to have the best chance of winning.

I am trying to do the small country challenge on historic maps, it is so tough though. No one really wants to ally with you and you are an easy target.
Personally, in the all-countries map, I like to choose a smaller country to "test" my playing skills. These are some that have a good chance of staying alive for a while:Tribunate wrote:

That's always fun. I once won as Tannu Tavau.
. I just ganged up on russia with germany and kicked some ass using AC and miltia.

Liberia is actually super hard to win, as there is no "small" country next to you, nor is there ressource to snatch, so you can't hope to expand economically beyond your "tiny power" status.Andromeda wrote:

- Cuba
- South Africa
- Ireland
- Denmark
- Finland
- Liberia
- Saudi Arabia
- Siam
- New Zealand
Ireland must be super hard, because UK will kill you immediately and there is no one to help you.
My recent attempt was with yemen and I had built a strong arabain and African empire but only to be destroyed by France
Tbh, I think the so-called "good" countries aren't all that good (I mean South Africa, for example). They for sure are advantageous, but the margin by which they win suggests there's more behind it.
I believe that since those countries are pretty good, pro's learn to pick them if possible. So, those good countries end up controlled by a pro player on top of that and tend to win.
Only the players that are good and patient enough to get to late game multiple times in WaW will notice this imbalance, and this is the kind of players who tend to be pro. So in the end, the players most likely to realize this imbalance and play those good countries are also those who are pro, so it just creates a tradition of eg. South Africa being successful because pro-controlled.
Edit: Rokossovski is true regarding HWW, but I think solo win with South Africa in WaW is challenging enough and gives you better records of your achievement (World Ruler etc) than just a good game with a bad WaW country.
I think the pro players tend to pick challenges, i.e. SMALLER/harder countries. It is no fun to conquer the world with Germany, especially with current sleeper rates... but Netherlands and Tibet can make it fun to play even then.
Yeah, invading Venezuela as USA is boring. Being Venezuela, fighting back, and winning? That is a different story.
