after many weeks of hard work, our scientists and military strategists have finally completely uncovered the truth behind the mysterious objects that have been found. We were able to piece everything together and can now proudly present to you the largest update to Call of War yet:
The World Map
Here are the key facts about the map:
100 players battle for control over the world.
200 countries can be conquered.
3,573 provinces have to be administrated.
Since it is the whole world, the map is completely round. That means you can sail across the Pacific Ocean as well as across any other ocean. The only exception are the poles: It will not be possible to cross the North or South Pole to shortcut from Greenland to Russia for example. It’s simply too cold for your troops.
For balancing reasons this first version uses partially unrealistic countries; large territories such as Russia or the US are divided into multiple playable countries.
We have added a couple of new features to support the playability in the world map:
To assure that you always have enough human players active on the map, the map can’t be opened by normal players and will be created by our system. There will always be two open world maps per language available for joining.
Games on this map will run longer than on the smaller maps. To not have nuclear fallout after day 40, we adjusted the research balancing (only for this map). On the world map, researches will be available a bit later, take longer and require more resources so that you have the same demanding requirements as in the previous maps. This moves the nuke rocket from day 40 to day 60.
Once you have provinces in multiple regions/continents, the province list will allow filtering by region.
The newspaper now also contains filters so you can easier focus on relevant articles.
A lot of performance enhancements have been made both on the server and client side like faster path simulation, less size required for map backgrounds and many more to allow for this demanding map to run as smoothly as possible.
New languages
Adding to this long list we also see the public release of new languages:
Czech language version is now live.
Russian language version is now live.
If you speak those languages, you can check them out by clicking on the according flag on the top right. We are also still looking for moderators for these languages. Please contact us in the forum in case you’re a native speaker and interested.
Additional fixes
The following fixes also go live today:
Fixed: Unit counter in player info did not correctly match count of visible units.
Fixed: Research screen was broken for some languages.
Fixed: Nuke video was not always shown.
Fixed: Duplicate infrastructure buildings in historic map.
Fixed: Bug in adviser and some other translations.
Fixed: Country selection list now scrolls to chosen country when selected on map.
Fixed: Newspaper search field was sometimes broken for Firefox.
Fixed: Games archive was broken if empty.
Fixed: Image of Destroyer in the army bar did not have water around the ship.
Fixed: Wrong resources for Bulgarian province in 10 player 1939 map.

100 players, and Im glad they pushed nuclaear fallout back a bit
I think they could even make a second world map
