Dude, he would have reached Moscow. Those 14 million soviet soldiers, 5 million allied men? Gone, wouldnβt stand a chance if he just struck.

Dear Generals,
It is 1944: the Axis powers are on retreat and the Allies are preparing their final offensive. But the ending of the war is not decided yet... Will the Axis turn the tides of war in a decisive battle? Will Soviets and Allies clash inevitably, turning a looming Cold War into a hot one? In this 3vs3vs3 team scenario you can play as Axis, Soviets or Western Allies and change the course of history!

huh? 14 mil Russian vs 5 mil Germans???
no way they could win, Russia wanted revenge, the allies had better infrastructure.

That's why Steiner's attack is a meme, look on Wikipedia and see their forces. Near the end of the war the Soviets were encircling Berlin with millions of well equipped soldiers and thousands of tanks, planes, and artillery pieces, while Steiner's Army had nothing more than some Volkssturm troops and a dozen pre-war tanks captured from France in 1940. The very thought that Germany could win past 1941 is foolish, especially after they failed Barbarossa and the US entered the war. Although, to people of the past we would be considered historians because of how much information we have, and we are looking at all WW2 events in hindsight with all classified information revealed. So for some people it still seemed a reality that Germany posed a threat even in late 1944.
I was talking about 5 million western allied forces in Europe⦠the Germans where like 2-3 million MAX.GeneralJames wrote:

You summarized everything perfectly.Commander Schleicher wrote:

no, in 1945, the German Heer had a 5,300,000 active combatants.

Soldiers doesn't equal strength. At the end of the war, the Axis had no logistics, their tactics and communication were exposed, most experienced soldiers were dead, most recruits were kids, the Luftwaffe became useless, the surface navy of the Kriegsmarine became useless, soldiers had no food, their vehicles ran out of fuel, and partisans popped up all over the place. I could keep naming stuff wrong with Germany after the allies came in full force, but you have the same mindset as the German commanders ironically. They thought that having more soldiers and recruits would be beneficial, but they forgot they couldn't even supply the current army with food, weapons, or ammo. Even if they magically were able to recruit and fund more troops the allies still had tens of millions fighting and even more producing materiel.
Exactly. During the war the allies mobilized more soldiers than Germany had ethnic German population, and could have brought in millions more. As said above, most of those soldiers were poorly trained, equipped and shaped for war. Actual soldiers in a normal manner numbered 2 million at best. Soviet and allied forces were superior in every manner at this point, had cracked any German enigma codes, outproduced by a huge margin etcβ¦
Especially during the final years when the allies were able to freely bomb German occupied targets, their logistics were just lost altogether. In the final months of the war, the Po River had been bombed so much that there were 0 bridges left to transport any goods to the German soldiers stationed in Italy. The allies exponentially grew as the Germans got weaker, and people always forget the large partisan groups and uprisings that wreaked havoc on supply lines and other factors.
YES, even, if steinr counter attacked, it would be bad

this argument just turned around... WTF

I was talking about Steiner's attack as a joke.

Sometimes the joke just flies over people's heads.
And yes we balanced the event on purpose, because axis is sandwiched from 2 sides, so actually has to fight 2 teams at once. Who would want to play as the axis team if defeat would be guaranteed?
No one, but watching Nazis get steamrolled is always a fun thingβ¦
Maybe Axis should just be CPU controlled then and more players added to the other 2 teams instead. Then its a PvE map at first where people can enjoy steamrolling nazis, and then turns into PvP. Similar to Dominion Antarctica actually.
That.. actually would work! Would fit the end of WW2 excellently as well, since it became a scramble for whoever could take over the most of the crumbling Nazi-empire first. Combine this with more late war stuff (giving the allies more units, and research, as you said) so you can make the scenario a bit more chaotic and it would be very fun! Only thing is Wermaboos would probably not be happy..
Freezy if we have a forum poll and the results support this, could we get Bytro to do it?freezy wrote:

Why can't I be Germany? That would defeat the whole purpose of the game in my opinion. It would make more sense to have a map of a divided Germany that had border crises which led to the allies and the Soviets going to war or something.
Will this event return soon?
Unlikely, to say the least. It's possible tho
