Release Notes - 2024-01-23

Attention, General!

Nuclear weapons have become even more fearsome! Nuclear explosions will now cause fallout to rain down from the skies. The fallout will affect a large area around the explosion, damaging friends and foes alike for its duration. This adds a strategic element, requiring careful planning before deploying these weapons of mass destruction.
You can test out the new and improved nukes by joining the Doomsday event maps, available this week. On top of that, a special Operation, exclusive to the event will offer an opportunity to earn extra rewards!

We also deployed a few bug fixes. Armies can no longer be disengaged from combat by merging them with other armies. Market fees are now displayed properly, letting you make informed decisions on which trades to accept. And no longer will resources be deducted multiple times for the same unit upgrade when playing on a slower connection.

We have updated our privacy policy to better provide you with an enjoyable gaming experience and in accordance with local regulations. For more information see this page.

For a closer look at the changes please check out the detailed Release Notes and share your feedback with us on the Forums and on our Discord Server.

Best of luck General!

I agree.

Nice! Nukes have been underpowered for a long time; I’m only sorry we can’t use these new ones in the current RP although I’m sure it’ll be interesting in future ;)

Have a blessed day <3

Good update :D

See? My nuke spam had justification! Does this take place in all games or just newly made ones?

What a disaster.....Nukes do NOT belong in a world War 2 scenario......try fixing the ship movement at sea and get rid of the way points, let the ships move just like aircraft in 360 degrees......get rid of the expansion and Capitol morale penalties, the game is not a popularity contest but a war game......you want nukes then design a cold war scenario game.

Great work Bytro. Made me nervous last month when you said there were "plans" for nukes, thought it would be gold or unit card related..... But this is really good. Great job guys.

Hell yes the suggestion was noted...

There used to be a glitch where you could stop your melee units from fighting by merging them with another army. As you’d know melee units are supposed to fight to the death, with a mutual right ow way relation the only thing that can end combat between two units. This was fixed.

Ok thank you very much.I have it now.

Finally you will feel the impact of nukes. It is worth a watch (need high graphics settings though to see the explosion properly). Oh, and do go into the yellow circle now if you don't want to glow in the dark :D

The fallout has a range of 70 and will be active for 2 days and deals 15 damage to units (except subs), 0 to buildings and 1 to morale every 30 minutes. So in its 2 days lifetime it can deal 1440 damage to units and 96 damage to morale in total.

The fallout is only in matches started after the update.

You realise the fact how crucial nukes were to force japan to surrender? Do you?

Nukes literally ended WW2 bruh, of course they belong in a WW2 game

Technically it was nukes and the Soviet invasion as well, as Japan hoped to use the USSR as a mediator to save them for the Americans. Once the USSR declared war they decided that it was too late and they should surrender since the Americans might spare them, and they didn’t want their north to be invaded and entire country to be nuked into oblivion.

I don't think I'd like this addition.

The use of the sea lanes isn't strictly accurate (although neither are the roads) but it makes for some good strategy, since a limited number of routes allows interception and complex manoeuvring.

This makes for better sea battles IMO since restricted movement breeds will force admirals to think more strategically.

We've been asking for this for years. I'm glad it could finally be implemented

Can we bring back the newsreel though?

Aeroplanes are interesting toys but of no military value.
β€” Marshal Foch
A pretty mechanical toy [...] the war will never be won by such machines.
β€” Lord Kitchener, on tanks

^^^^^ Newsreel and Unit names…
