Release Notes - 2024-10-29
Resources Reforged is live now: Goods and Rare Materials are no longer available on newly created maps - Massive overhaul for the World map, adding Rivers around the globe to enhance gameplay.
Goods and Rare Materials have been removed from the game! This change applies to all newly created game rounds. Please read our update news from last week for more information on this change.
The Resource rework also comes with a balancing update to Industry buildings. We’ve slightly increased the initial build costs, but here’s the big payoff: Industry buildings now get a boost in production efficiency at higher levels. This means investing in urban production is a higher-stakes choice - but one that comes with even greater rewards!
Further, we’re thrilled to announce that rivers have arrived on the World map! Following the updates to the European and North American scenarios, rivers now also flow through the World Scenario. They are transforming the battlefield with dangerous choke points and new, surprising routes for naval attacks. Dive in and explore the revamped World at War map, or get ready to experience these changes in the next Free For All event.
For a closer look at all the changes please check out the detailed Release Notes and share your feedback with us right here on the Forums and on our Discord Server.

Why is it that with every message that the game has been improved, the lag multiplies???
Further, I do not understand that pop-up message, bc when was the last time the game was 'improved'???
PS: Maybe I am simpleminded, but I noticed only downgrades...

Sorry, this update today took a bit longer to deploy. So there were multiple popups saying the update had finished, when in fact it hadn't. I hope things are back to stable now that the update is done!vonlettowvorbeck wrote:

Almost every click is followed by about a minute of lag.
Edit 21:02: last 2 clicks
Action1: move troops => 95 seconds lag
Action2: buy Oil => 105 seconds lag
Or, in the last 3 minutes, I have been watching the flashing lag sign for 200 seconds, which equals almost 3 minutes out of 3 minutes, while I was able to start 2 actions...
In the hour before that, I was moving my very much disliked HT - taken from a unit card, bc I will not ever built such an already pretty useless and now (since the 'RSS-Ruined' downgrade) completely obsolete unit - to rack up some kills for the achievement, which I still don't have, while playing since 2015 (again illustrating how good looking, but utterly useless HT are).
My 'precious' (bc only) HT was under threat from enemy troops and had to be moved several times....which was utterly impossible due to to ever 'flashing' làààààààg (I used multiple 'à' to stress that the word needs to be pronounced s l o w l y).
Shocking as it all is to me, I was just theorizing:
Monty Python made a movie called 'How to irritate people'...
I think Bytro staff have watched it too and decided to pull something like that on its clients... Am I right?
I mean, there must be somekind of devious plan behind the continues downgrades and increasing lag.
Pls say 'Yes, there is a devious plan', bc otherwise it is totally incomprehensible what is happening to this once great game from a once very likable company.

I have the same problem when I logged in just now.
Is there a reason you used the French a?vonlettowvorbeck wrote:

I don't notice a problem with the game interface.
I think you are wrong there.
Yes, pleasing the whales and stopping the gold shaming is a thing.
But more importantly, it is the shareholder value they are desperately trying to increase aka profit for people who are not at all involved except with an investment.
Bytro was always making money. I read somewhere it was 6 million/yr a while ago. Mind you, that is not enormous, but a good niche earning.
What Stillfront is making Bytro do, is simplifying the game, to attract dumber players who will spend their pocket money to save their ego.
But those players will hop from game to game and not stay on.
The Premium buyers should be able to sustain the company and the Whales are the cherry on the cake. The whales spent because they need to win, regardless.
The Premium players will (mostly) have better skills and pose the real challenge to the Whales and are their reason for spending.
The F2P with better skills are the challenge for the Premium players, as should be the Whales, and that is why the Premium players keep playing the game.
The F2P players simply enjoy the game and some will evolve into Premium players and some even into Whales.
This what Bytro should capitalize on.
Not on the game-hopping 1-day-flies.
If Stillfront/Bytro wants to increase their revenue and profit from this game, their strategy is wrong.
They should instead try to exploit the unique niche position they have and market the game for what it is and with what it attracted its real customers: a unique strategy game.
Further, they should reduce overhead. Reduce the number of KPI oriented knobs they call managers. And reduce their pay. This will instantly reduce costs.
Next they should look at which managers to retain and those should be not the KPI oriented knobs, but the managers who understand what the role of a manager is: create an open playing field and remove barriers, so that their subordinates can do their jobs best!
That is how you get results from your team (you do not get true added value from your employees by checking numbers, hours spend and moaning about KPI's).
But under pressure to generate more shareholder value, from higher-ups who don't have clue of the real value of their assets, this can't happen.
That is how stillfront is killing off its games (and itself) and that is why their shares are in the sewer.
Alternatively, they should change how they approach the different markets for their different games, instead of turning every game into junk for dimwits who will never become loyal customers.
There is so much more to say about this, but nobody is listening anayways.
PS: I went to the stockmarket with a company doing 10million in revenues at that time, increased it to 65 million, but... though on paper I was very rich in stocks (market cap peaked at over 250 million of which I owned a considerable share), but selling off a large part was not an option.
So, yeah, it looked great and I was considered very important in my branche of industry.
LMFAO!!!
Now that I am off of the stock market again, I have
(a) tonnes of spare time
(b) way more fun again and
(c) more REAL money in the bank
Working to increase shareholder value, while not issuing shares to profit from it, is a death trap.
And if you succeed and do issue shares, the death trap becomes only more deadly.
Unless you don't give a shit about your company, but that inherently means you have a shitty character and will never be happy anyways
))
Good post Xherdan!
I fully support what you are saying here

Daraus sollte Bytro Kapital schlagen.
If you want to speak German, that's fine, but please do it in the German language thread section.

@Geden You said there was a delay in getting the update out, is that fixed now?
Komrade, what he is trying to make sure of, is that the German publisher of this game understands what he is saying.Komrade Khrushchev wrote:

Your lack of language skills does not force you to make a comment and if you can't or won't read German (though it is the largest language in Europe), nobody forces you to do so.
Contrary to some, Komrade, I can read German and I enjoyed what he wrote there. Don't be so angry you missed out.

Russian is the largest language in Europe (by amount of native speakers) Like someone else said English is the official language of this forum.vonlettowvorbeck wrote:

You can turn on language settings to have access to other forums, like the German forum. I have access to this forum and the Russian forum.

What is the population in European Russia, where the native language is Russian?Komrade Khrushchev wrote:

German is the language of the DACH countries, a part of Belgium & Italy and some smaller states and enclaves. The native speakers will therefore easily amount to well over 100 million.
From the top of my head:
85-90MM Germans (not counting the refugees)
10MM Austrians
10MM Swiss
0,5-1MM other (Belgium, Liechtenstein, other enclaves)
That would make some 105-110MM
The population of Russia is about 145 million. Say 75% live in the European part => some 108MM
So, I wouldn't be too sure Russian is still the largest language in Europe. And if it still is, the difference is marginal.
Ofc, Russia is not really a part of Europe anymore and the language no longer has importance to the South, West or North of Belarus.
But I don't want to quarrel about 1MM more or less than the other.
Thus I wil rephrase the remark to: .... German is the largest language of civilized Europe.
