Server downtime 10/27/2015

Dear Generals,

several city districts of Frankfurt, where our server hoster is located, suffered an extended power outage at 10:15 CET. 75% of our servers are connected to a redundant power supply for cases like this, but unfortunately that supply went out as well 40 minutes later. As the whole data center was without power for several hours there was no way for us to actively influence that state.

Thanks to the hard work of the technicians on-site the servers are now back again. They still need some time to recover and stabilize, so certain functions may only work slowly for now. Your games should have gone on normally for the period of the downtime.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and would like to reimburse you with 5000 gold, which will be paid out later today.

Nothing has been resolved...what are you talking about. Will someone PLEASE answer the question about units moving/attacking? Will they stop/pause?

Only 75% of your servers have power backup (probably really only half) that lasts less than an hour? What kind of IT staff do you have? 100% of servers should have power and data backup for any web based company. The fact that you have not tested the backup and it isn't working properly doesn't say much about the organization.

Why in the world would you allow units to move/attack when players cannot login? Start pausing games...this is terrible service.

BeerBelly, this is the note from the last server downtime, almost two months ago. You found it, by accident.
