Spring cleaning

Generals,

as the warm winds of spring draw closer, the impacts of battles and war keep lingering in the air. Our informants sent us reports about several problems the generals had to deal with during their war campaigns. Those were investigated and resulted in the following improvements this week:

  • fixed frozen browser windows when trying to move planes
  • fixed bug that caused players being unable to delete some messages
  • fixed the missing attack button in split army windows
  • improved pathfinding and relocating for airplanes and carriers
  • improved performance bottleneck with shared intelligence
  • fixed position selection for marine bases in several provinces
  • fixed building requirement tooltips that were not working in firefox
  • fixed bug that prevented units to get the extra attack when defeating an army in one blow
  • fixed shared intelligence forcing on team games
  • fixed bug that prevented planes flying from Nome (Alaska) to Uelen
  • improvement of performance and some script problems
Furthermore, we are aware that the profile stats did not update in the last days and we are still working on that problem. Sorry for any inconvenience caused by that!

We hope you enjoy the improvements. Tell us your feedback in the forum.

Have fun playing!

Most of us here on the forums are good people

There are bots that 'crawl' through forums looking for emails etc. Most of those bots are harmless, looking more for keywords and such to improve Google searches (if enabled in the forum)

Hmm... Interesting

A Web crawler is an Internet bot which systematically browses the World Wide Web, typically for the purpose of Web indexing.

I have heard of these, they like map the web

Just didnt think, they would be hanging out here on the forums

Well, the forums are part of the web.

(Jewbear, why are you changing the subject [or do you need a new thread?].)

I'm fine with ZULU time, since I play internationally in several games. Local time just throws me off.

Web crawlers are the basis of Google's core functionality. Without them, your searches would only come up with 2,000,000 matches instead of 3,000,000 matches.

On another note, if you were to try to map out the web on paper, it would look nothing like a web...but like a mesh. One gigantic convoluted mess of a mesh. And NOTHING in it makes a bit of sense.

That's why I invented a visualization program that actually redraws the information with linkages that emulate the way human memory works. The only problem is that I've only implemented this on a PC for its hard drive and never got around to putting it to work on the Internet. But if I ever did, you would soon know me along with the rest of the world as I replace Mark Zuckerberg as the most talked-about relevant Internet mover and shaker of the day.

Then, I could sell the whole thing to Google, retire as a billionaire, and go back to playing Call of War...right after I buy out Bytro and give unlimited free Gold to every player.

Oh what a happy world it would be ^^

It seemed like such a waste to destroy an entire battle station just to eliminate one man. But Charlie knew that it was the only way to ensure the absolute and total destruction of Quasi-duck, once and for all.

That would probably lead to the collapse of gold usage, and the quality of Call of War that makes it so fun.

I was being silly...as if I would ever be rich enough to buy out Bytro and do what I want with Call of War.

Wait a minute, it'd still be fun. Heck I'd make it a whole lot MORE fun.
