Supporters and allies
Dear Generals,
the circumstances of war sometimes demand forming an alliance to face the enemy together. From now on it is possible to unite with your allies in a coalition. For the time of one game round you can raise your own flag and use the coalition chat to discuss plans. In the top left-hand corner you can find the button for creating a coalition.
Furthermore, you now have the option to support your allies by speeding up their production of buildings or raising morale of their troops and provinces. This new Gold feature was enabled thanks to your feedback and is independent of coalitions.
We hope you like the new features. Let us know your opinion in the forum!

This actually doesn't work. I'm in a coalition in a game where the pooled VP's are more than the objective amount, we went past a day boundary and yet still have not won.StrangeTalent wrote:

Do the victory points "pool" to meet victory conditions like the team games do? So either this is a bug, or pooled VP's are just for show and don't actually win games.
Yes, I was fooled. It appeared as if the Coalition points mattered. This is going to be a good thing, though, as people cannot make one massive coalition and expect to win the game

What's the point in making a Coalition then? It'll just have to lead to infighting when the coalition wins the game and points are shared such that no individual member can win.StrangeTalent wrote:

The point is that you have a common discussion tool (chat and shared diplomatic messages) for better planning. You can also "show off" that you are in a coalition, might prevent people from attacking you. And you can see nice coalition flags on the map. We eventually add more features for coalitions in the future. If you have great ideas, feel free to suggest them.
Of course it is up to you how many members you take into a coalition. If you don't want to betray anyone, then just make a 3 man coalition.
I very much like the Coalition update, but I will be suggesting some changes, soon.

My one atm is only 2 people, but it'll end up with us both having 50% of the VP's at the end when we need 64% to win. I just think nation partnerships ought to be able to win together.
They can, you are able to retire.Machy234 wrote:

Is it possible to add this feature to the team maps?
i have 1 idea how to make coalitions a bit member. What if players share coalitions together and then the teammates could use other alliance member province to make troops when the player whose province would be used accepts it?
I disagree with that idea.
However, in the future, please create a new thread in the Suggestions & Criticisms subforum.

Please make that all players can play with small countries. It would be harder and more fun.

Viva Luxembourg!

More like Crushedby'embourg. A terrible idea.

Awesome!Next hopefully we will be able to change our flags!
I think they should add this on CoW for RPG makers, and I also don't think there should be an image size limit. In the meantime, this is an awesome update!TankBuster wrote:
I knew someone would bring up changing our own flags, if so, as a community we need to show that we're grown up enough to not use offensive images.S1914 allowed players to post images in the newspaper without HC, and that was abused. As long as we act like adults, hopefully more RP features will come.
Good work Devs, its good to see vital improvements just as I make my come back

Yes, it is for players who is far more experienced than others and seek a little challenge in games.Quasi-duck wrote:

Sooooo nations that are just point racks? 'Cause Malta can't sustain itself, never mind conquer it's neighbours.Diktatorius wrote:

Yeah, you wouldn't be able to last more than three days before your natural resources run out, then another five days before the stockmarket out grows you.Quasi-duck wrote:

You can't win the game based on your coalition's score though. I'm in a coalition now where our score exceeds the game maximum for victory, yet the game goes on. I think this is terrible. Not being able to win as a coalition eliminates the purpose of having one in the first place.StrangeTalent wrote:
