It is kind of funny, these threads come up every once in a while. I replied to two of them, but never got an answer. I wonder if someone feels I'm unqualified (well possible of course; but it would be nice to get a rejection), or if ALL these applications just wind up in a big sack around the corner of the toilet at the post office.

Freezy keeps a special corner for them.

Have to use the form to apply though, replying in the thread is not enough.

I am not dealing with any of this though, this topic is entirely on the CMs.

Easily 90+% of all modern internet moderation is done by extremely insular and nepotistic groups of "neurodivergent" individuals. Theres a semi-iconic picture you can search for, "Reddit mod meetup" or "Twitter mod meetup" that is very real and says what the global American censorship regime will not allow you to type.

If you are not friends with these individuals, which means supporting and encouraging their illnesses and fetishes and general whims in their discord server for months or years, you are likely not getting a place in.

Its a mirror of what HR and DEI have done to the corporate world and to a lesser extent smaller business. A group of nepotistic extremists who comprise an incredibly tiny percentage of the population gain control of something and use it to elevate themselves FAR above what their merit would suggest, while exploiting or excluding anyone who isnt part of the group. One could extrapolate that to the entire world when put that way of course.

Long story short theres a good chance its in the digital circular file. The in game chat mods are a well known direct example of what I mentioned to the point you cant even use support when one is being genuinely abusive, because his friend is manning support chat and they are discussing you in real time on Discord.
