The giant of the seas

Generals,

our leading scientists have finally given green light for the production of our latest wonder weapon: The mighty aircraft carrier! This giant of the seas will help you to dominate enemy seas and shorelines by launching tactical aircraft strikes from its’ mobile air base. Our scientists hope to add additional carrying capacity to the carrier by further research.

A few details:

  • Aircraft carriers are mobile airfields at sea.
  • You have limited carrying capacity which can be increased through research.
  • Aircraft carriers can accommodate naval bombers, fighters and tactical bombers (lvl 4+).
  • To equip an aircraft carrier the aircraft has to start from an airfield or another aircraft carrier.
In addition to this long-awaited new unit, there are also a few bug fixes and improvements this week:

  • Fixed a bug that submarines and ships are sometimes passing each other without fighting.
  • Fixed a bug that the level of traded units was reset due to research.
  • Fixed a bug that aircraft within a province is still considered flying after the destruction of the airfield.
  • Measures have been taken to prevent that players get stuck in the Tutorial (or players that join into the game after them).
  • Fixed a bug that the status of multiple selected armies was displayed as "undefined".
  • Fixed rocket pathfinding bug.
  • Various fixes and improvements in our support tools.
We are also proud to announce that the Japanese version of the game is now released!

Sweet news really looking forward to try out the new units!

I've kept a game alive for almost half a year just so I could be one of the first to try these out! Got a ton of Naval Bombers already in production.

Russian bias? I think you mean Russian fact, Comrade!

They even got fiery and speedy nuclear carriers :O

I like the idea but I think the Independence Class (lvl 4) should be the level 1 then Lexington class should be level 2 and so on and so forth.

So what is the mechanic with the tactical bombers? Do I need level 4 bombers or a level four carrier?

Level four bombers as it is the bombers that need STOBAR capability rather than the carriers getting CATOBAR.

Thanks!

Finally!

The past is a foreign country.

Aircraft Carriers have been introduced recently and a re the talk of the forum. Now that the last major technological achievement of World War II has been introduced (finally), a new era of strategy will come into play.

Most definitely will. Along with Paras and Marines, this is going to revolutionize gameplay.

At what level can strategic bombers, rocket fighters, and nuclear bombers launch? The atomic bombs dropped on Japan were launched off an aircraft carrier. The game says rocket fighters are interceptors. Strategic bombers are the primitive form of nuclear bombers.

yes,

cargo planes,

marines

paratroopers

rocket subs,

my additions

there are already 2 anti-air units
could even argue 4 with the aircraft..
Actually, there are 2 land based, 1 naval based and 2 air based AA specific units. Most of the ship units do actually come with a decent AA capability as well, after a few levels.

the best update till now !! I can reach the US coast in 2.5 hours with my bombers, secure the shore and land of course I need 3/4 Carriers but it's ok, if they add the paratroopers or any kind of air transport, it will be the best weapon in the game

imagine 4 aircraft carriers making a bridge for 20 bombers wiping out coastal defenses and some cargo planes dropping paras or tanks

it will be much better than waiting 2 days to get to the other side of the ocean

Yes, and it will make naval dominance much more critical. Such bridges shouldn't come easy.

Wait, @freezy is back!
