War Bonds - New Resource
We have some very exciting news to share! Meet Call of War’s newest resource: War Bonds! They will replace almost all functions currently paid for with Gold. This revolutionizes how Call of War is played, so read on to find out all of the details!

War Bonds are a new resource in the game, located in the resource bar at the top of the screen. They accumulate passively over time for free. War Bonds are used for all special actions, such as speed-ups, spy actions, morale boosts, and healing your units. So all players can now enjoy them the same.
Like other resources, War Bonds are tied to each map. So take advantage of your War Bonds to enjoy Call of War to the fullest.

There are some key differences to other resources. War Bonds aren’t produced by provinces. That means they accumulate at the same fixed rate for all players, regardless of how big their nation has grown or what gameday it is. Additionally, War Bonds can not be looted from defeated enemy players. And finally, they are not available on the stock market, or tradeable with other players.
So you might wonder, where does this leave Gold? Going forward Gold is only used to top up resources, including the new War Bonds. And of course you can still use it to unlock premium account features during map creation.

War Bonds are laying a strong foundation for the future of Call of War. They give us opportunities for future iterations and new features.
But most importantly, they level the playing field. War Bonds allow everyone to participate in all functions Call of War offers. This way, everyone experiences the same gameplay.
This also adds a new layer of strategic planning. Will you use them early in the game to keep the pace high and pressure your opponents? Or are you gonna save them for a rainy day, stocking them up for a push later in the game? The choice is yours, and we are excited to see how you’ll use your newly gained options on the battlefield!

War Bonds are going live with the next release on Tuesday, 2024-07-23! They are already available for testing in beta games, so Frontline Pioneers can dust off their entrenching tools and already do some testing.
We have also opened a dedicated channel on our Discord. Head there to discuss the upcoming change or ask any questions that you may have!
That is all for now Generals - we’ll see you on the battlefield!
Your Bytro Team

If they float it on the market and you're over 18 (the minimum age for stonk trading), then yes igKomrade Khrushchev wrote:

OK, so in 2 years of consecutive play, with +/- 3 WAW games going at all times, I have never run into a "mass golder" by your standards.vonlettowvorbeck wrote:

No complaints from my side. I simply enjoyed making it as expensive as possible for him.
Maybe we can all stop pretending mass golders are an issue in this game?
Why do I feel that this thread is going to escalate very, very fast?
Well hmm maybe I only just really started getting good, my k/d was alot worse a month ago...
Don't do it! Never try to catch a falling knife! You can look it up STLFFKomrade Khrushchev wrote:

I just want to say a few things. I quit this game for good before warbonds became a thing, but I still occasionally check out this forum, because I'm a masochist or something.
I started playing in 2015, I think. Back then, if you had skill and built up your economy, you could usually beat even heavy gold users, using your superior play alone.
I suspect that Bytro does not like this because paying customers get frustrated and quit. It must indeed be frustrating to spend like 50 to 100 dollars and still end up losing.
This is why, in recent years, we've seen measures steadily introduced by bytro to reduce the impact of skill on the game. We've seen magical units appearing independent of the economy, "warbonds" that everyone gets regardless of their skill in building their economy, and now a dumbing down of the economy even further by removing two resources.
Mark my words, they won't stop there; further measures will be taken to make the game more satisfying to less cerebral customers. And if they claim that these measures are necessary to increase revenues to pay for running the game, I suspect that's nonsense; the game was already profitable, and they are doing it out of pure greed.
What’s up with all these NPC “Thank you” posts?

Maybe we can all stop pretending mass golders are an issue in this game?
First off, true mass golders are very a few only. I am playing this game for many years and I have met only a few. I have a winrate of 70-75% and a K/D about 2,7 on just over a 100 games.
If I woud have met mass golders every game, my stats would not be what they are. And they simply are what they are, bc I meet a heavy golder only once in a while. I meet heavy golders only once in a while, bc ... they are few.
Do you get this logic?
And can we now agree that heavy golders are NOT a problem?
Besides, their spending (to save their oversized egos from their lack of skill) is a blessing for the game, bc they finance for a large part the company that is giving us the game.
The above ofc does not mean that it is not terribly annoying to have a mass golder in your map
Secondly, only people who do not have a gold stash from winning or surviving games are complaining. Hence, only the least skilled, least active players do that. Now why would anyone have to care about players that never finish maps and always go inactive? Bc going inactive or always being fullly wiped out in EVERY map is the only reason why a player would not have a gold stash, isn't it?

I agree that massive whales aren't the problem. The problem is the continuous efforts from Bytro to please them and acquire new ones. Now we have a WW2 game full of magic, only because the whales shouldn't be as exposed/obvious as they were before.
