I'm assuming that every time this guy opens up a bag of breakfast cereal
that the loud "POP" gives this this "guy" a "temporary case of PTSD."
And it renders him anxious and irritable for at least an hour afterwards.
It also bruises his hands afterwards.

It isn't the fact that he hasn't fired a gun, apparently he fired hand guns. It is the fact that he finds an AR-15, a rifle which children shoot and uses a round that is designated as a small round, terrifying to fire.
